i think it has more to do with the intake/tb and no UD pulley than the heads. i tuned my friends car to 445/390 with an ms3 and 853's, but that was with a 92/92, stock maf and an slp lid, full 3" td's and kooks 1 3/4, stock rear.

Yea don't really no to much about tuning but I believe Nick at Newtech knows his stuff. He is very well k nown in the bay area for being a top tuner with LSX engines. He told me right from the start with my mods what I was going to dyno. Again this is also his dyno so he knows what kind of numbers it produces(dynojet). But again dyno numbers are not everything. This car does perform. Believe it or not I have recently after putting in my new tick master trapped 120mph.

Not to happy with the numbers, but the performance really shined on the track. I put this cam in dot to dot and didn't degree the cam so I'm not sure if this may have anything to do with dyno results. I know that with heads, fast, and UD this cam will really show it's true power.

Side not why doesn't TR ever chime in about their products. If this was my product I'd diffenetly be backing up or supporting my products. Texas Speed seems to always be available about everything. Why can't TR do the same.

They are usually good about posting in threads about there products. They are extremely busy right now and prolly don't have the extra time right now to check the threads. Not making excuses for them. I just had the same cam and a set of TFS 215's installed in my car lat week by them. We dyno'd the car and it made 435 but had some small issues pop-up. It is pulling a huge vacuum so I need a new instake now. They are gonna finish it up saturday and re-dyno to see where we are before the intake is swapped.

Yea. ^^^^ I read your post. Looks like your putting down some good numbers. If I had the extra money for some heads and an intake I would diffenetly do it. Update your post when you can so that maybe I can copy your setup. Good luck.

no one likes 853s, do they? always gotta have a scapegoat for poor performance.

my 00 bolt on car ran good with them and my wife's 99 ta runs good, too. i think people are looking too hard for a reason their junk doesn't run like it should.

I never complained about the heads I have on my car^^^^. and my car isn't a piece of junk either. I'm not trying to make excuses for anything I was just hoping for some better numbers. Car runs strong for what it is.

^^^useless post. the OP is happy with the car. Not sure if the cam has any advance ground in or not but if it did that may explain the low number and peak but why it also runs so good

My car also has 853 heads and I simply don't believe that by swapping out to 241's I would go faster. They are the same ****. Its not worth it to go from 853 to 241. If you are going to swap out heads go with the big names like AFR, TEA, TF, etc...

If he's happy with an incorrectly matched H/C setup, more power to him. But big, max effort cams like to BREATHE. Stock heads and stock compression will not do that cam justice.

241s aren't going to be an improvement over 853s, but 243s or 799s would help this setup make more power and TORQUE more importantly.

I agree completely. But for most of us. Especially in my case as well an all out build isnt always something we have the means to do. I purchased a cam that was not optimum for my current setup knowing that my next build would be heads to match it. The point of the post was not to say my stock heads are better than your ported ones it was to say compared to similar setups I feel like my car is down on power. I'd like to hear back though about the cam.

Fwiw I tuned on a bolt on car that went 11.0's and it was a 98.. The cams were diff between alot of the years.. The 98 made 5rwhp over another 02 that I did on the same dyno..

I think thats why its a bit down on peak. My 238/240 only made 399 RW but it runs ridiculous. Power comes in at 3700 and pulls like a **** until I start floating valves. I say congrats on a fun car

Why are your valves floating?
