Talking 440/406 - Torquer V2 Cam/Stock 243s

Made 440/406. Came in with a lot of issues in the previous tune and had Brian @ Reckart Performance fix them up a bit at his dyno day. It made 400/350 before Brian's tuning. Almost 60 rwtq and 40 rwhp in the tune alone.

Was just wanting these numbers as a baseline for when I install the intake and all the other fuel upgrades I'm putting on soon. Overall I'm really pleased with the results considering I'm still on the stock intake. I feel like if Brian had done a full tune on it he could have squeaked out a bit more, but I'll let him do that once I put the FAST 92/92 on.

Mod list:
Torquer V2 Cam
Stock 243s
LS6 Intake
SLP Lid
ASP Underdrive Pulleys
T56
10 bolt, 4.10s
Speed Density Tune

Not trying to be a hater, but that reeks of fish.

-40rwhp from a "tune alone" on a 400rwhp cammed/243 car? I don't buy it. 400/350 is right around what the car should be making for those mods.
-I've done 5-10 T2's and never seen one make north of 410rwhp with any stock GM casting. That includes 241's, 243's, and 317's.
-Put the car on a dynojet and get an A/F reading. I could see 420 out of that combo, but 440 isn't happening in the legit world of dyno #s IMO.

Cool story bro

The previous tune was ****, it was on 13 degrees of timing at WOT... we bumped it to 26 (which is where it should have been before) thus the reason for the huge gains. And I did get an A/F reading.

Basically, the previous person I had tune the car obviously did not know what they were doing...

440 is pretty high for a dyno jet, but remember dynos are for tuning not bench racing.. Use the dyno for a before & after, that's always the best way to use it!

Hope your happy! Let us know if you ever want to swap to a sweet set of PRC 227 or 215 castings!!

This was on a dynapac chassis dyno. I ran my car a couple hours before his car. My 1999 Formula is headers/exhaust/lid, and ran 302/324, a bolt on LT1 ran 284/34x. The dyno seemed pretty consistent. And if he had the same guy tune his car that tuned my 1989...then he definitely had 40_rwhp left in the tune LOL

BTW, I hope my 1989 Formula does as good after Brian tunes it. It's HCIE LQ4, same cam, hogged out shaved 241 with bigger valves. If I get 410rwhp I'll be content.

I can vouch for his **** tune, it was even worse when he lived in amarillo and his car would still scoot.. Numbers seem about right to me as I've seen 3 or 4 others with the same setup put down almost identical numbers.

i have a t2 in my car full boltons ls6 intake and stock 241 heads i made 390rwhp on a mustang dyno with the cutout closed and 415rwhp on a dynojet with the cutout open. yea 440's a little high but if i added a stock set of 243's id prob see 15-20 so i dont think its off just a strong car
