Default New G5X2 Dyno Numbers 429.2/404.8 Cam Only

Finaly numbers were
429.2 RWHP
404.8 RWTQ

Car is an 02 Ws6 6spd. Car has longtubes, duals, lid, pulley, ported tb, 8.8 Rear with 3.73's and of course a G5X2. Dyno was done with a short belt, but I run the car at the track with a shortbelt! This cam pulls incredibly hard all throughout the rpm range. I'm going to be taking it to the track soon to see what it does. If anyone needs a cam with insane power and torque talk to Lou over at LG! I have a dyno graph if anyone can resize it for me I can post it!

FREAKIN AWESOME. CONGRATS!!!!! I have heard some complaint that the low end torque is lost with this cam but i think those few that have mentioned this are wrong. Can you confirm that the torque throughout the entire rpm band blows away your stock cam set up?

ENJOY!

OMG this car has more torque than you can imagine. Based on my graph I have over 300lbs of torque at 2500rpms. By 3000rpms I have over 350 and then it just keeps climbing.

Take it to the track---I think you may be surprised with the results. IMO 3.73s are inadequate for a STOCK ls1 with a 6 speed. The mph will be great, but you are leaving alot of et on the table with those gears, short belt or not! Don't be surprised if a properly geared 224 cammed car puts it on ya...LOL. Nice numbers though.

Haha, your funny considering I ran 7.6's-7.7's@90 with my stock cam, stock gears, stock clutch, stock rear. The car does not need gears.

Great numbers.....

However on the track time thing.....You would definately pick up a very substantial amount of time with steeper gearing. There is no way you are going to cut the 1.4 60' you are looking for with 3.73's out back.

Get some 28's and some 4.56's and about 6600 rpm

His point was that your car is leaving at least a few tenths on the table with 3.73's, and you won't trap anywhere near the optimal rpm for that cam.

Just because you ran well with a stock motor has absolutely NOTHING to do with how the car will run with that cam setup. The above post is correct. 3:73's are not enough for that cam. 4:10's would be a least and 4:30's would be optimum...

However, congrats on your #'s....

BTW, you running Craig's 8.8? Did you install it? If so, what u-joint you running? Thanks

I may spray the car too. I really dont need to make my car a track *****. I do race a lot at the track and have thought abotu 4.10's but thats just not what I want. I know it would run harder with 4.10's or higher but I race a ton on the freeway and dont want to lose that. Car was tuned @MMT, it is Craigs 8.8. I have one of the first he ever made. Cam is on a 112, and the springs are the new Patriot Dual Valve Springs.
