Default NEW LSX DYNO - 443 rwhp, 25rwhp gain

Letoy Motorsports Dyno Results, Bakersfield, CA.
661-396-8100

Well i just got off my Dynojet dyno about an hour ago...I finally recieved my first two LSX intakes yesterday and had a 00 Firehawk heads/cam car waiting for it.

My dyno is about is one of the most convservative dynos around...I can pretty much gaurentee any of the 470-500 rwhp stock bottom end cars in the country wouldnt put down better than 450-480 rwhp on my dyno. When something makes 400 rwhp on mine...it goes to the track and runs #'s that match what it should.. Not like some dynos that have 450 rwhp cars running 11.8's @ 116-118.

Ive only had a few heads/cam cars make more than 410 rwhp on my dyno. All TEA/Absolute cars other than this one, patriot headed cars never have so far....

Ex SLP Test LA Autoshow/SEMA Firehawk
2000 Red Firehawk owned by Gerald M.
Stage 2 Brian Neelan ported heads flow 305 cfm, 2.05x1.60 valves
224/224, .582 lift @ 114 (/w comp 1.75 roller rockers)
LS6 intake stock /w EGR
Underdrive pulley, ported TB
SLP Longtube headers
Offroad SLP y-pipe, through a SLP Catback
Stock bottom end
SLP Lid, SLP 85MM MAF
6-spd,10-bolt, 4.11 gears, stock firehawk wheels & 275/40/17 tires
LS1Edit Tuning

Before with LS6 SLP EGR Intake (we made about 10 pulls with ls1edit tuning):
418 rwhp, 402 RWTQ

After we added the LSX 78MM intake with same ported throttle body, took a while to install because had to redo the EGR setup to make it fit right, because you have to cut the stock egr tube for a SLP ls6 intake for a 98-00 car.

After with the LSX Intake we got a best of 443 rwhp, 421 rwtq

A/F changed a bunch on the intake swap so it took me about 10 more pulls to retune and get the car up to the final results...initally we started with a 8 rwhp gain with no change in tuning but air/fuel went funky...

Im going to try a 90mm LSX setup on my 408" next month with TEA and absolutes stage 3 heads against a LS6 setup...

BEFORE & AFTER:

Heres the car:

I don't think some shops spent enough time on the dyno to give some setups enough time to work.2 pulls and call it good for some of the tuners out there. good job on the tune i like to see gains like that.

nice results. this is what i'm wanting to see with the lsx intake. maybe becuase this car has an 85mm maf and air lid it could take better advantage of the breathing. just a thought.

Sorry to inform you, but your two graphs have different correction factors (the first graph/before use the SAE correction factor and the second/after graph uses the DIN correction. DIN (Deutsche Industrie Norm) is the standard determined by the German automotive industry.

Go back into the software and change the correction factor to SAE for the after runs. They will be quite a bit different with the SAE correction.

Looking at the two graphs, the first graph shows "SAE Horsepower", the second graph shows "DIN Horsepower".

Are you comparing apples to apples?

I don't think the air lid is an 85mm lid if that's what you are implying. Only TSP makes one of those to my knowledge.

If the new graph you posted has both dynos @ SAE correction, you're looking at a 19rwhp gain/13rwtq gain....still pretty good in my book.

After install of the Fast, did you actually have to retune the car b/o the new A/F numbers or did the computer learn the new mix after several runs?

Good #s

please post the 8 runs of air fuel from ls6 tune to lsx tune. I'd like to see how the air fuel got funky.

Maybe there was a leak around the EGR previously. What were your LTRIMS like with the LS6 intake vs the FAST?

that would account for the AF differences. I know you mentioned modding the EGR when making the swap...
