90k miles, slp shorty headers, cutout, k&n cai, no tune (.91mV on the o2) , 84-85°F temp, pretty humid, no correction factor

287rwhp on a dynojet

My 94 A4 made 272 rwhp with most boltons. I believe the stock numbers were around 240 rwhp.

My 98' TA 6-speed put down 260 rwhp with a lid and muffler. 4500' elevation is my excuse. Turned a 13.7 @ 103 at same elevation.

Any more to add to this list? It certainly does appear that the 99s are the dyno pigs. Not all, but an alarming amount.

My '00 dynoed 316 RWHP converter unlocked and 326 RWHP converter locked on MTI's Dynojet when it was internally stock....and it ran 11.56 at 115.8 MPH in the 1/4 NA! So much for dyno racing!

Just wanted to update my numbers. 341 rwhp now with the ls6 intake and shortbelt. I've since added an ASP pulley but haven't had the chance to dyno it yet.

I got one for you:

'99 Z28 M6 Hardtop
Lid, K&N and Loudmouth
287 RWHP 312 RWTQ
.....needless to say, I was beside myself

....in looking at the graph the tech was guessing bent push rods. Took it apart right there at the shop and found 3 bent rods (2 bad 1 just a little). Slipped in 3 new ones, drove it around the block, came back and dynoed again.

Dave when you have a ported TB, fresh plugs, ls6, jethots, open cutout, pulleyand it dynoes less 345-350, then you have a problem... start looking at oil consumption, throw some 7.375 length hardened pushrods in it and springs (youll be set to go with a cam later) and ill bet it makes 355+

Uh, I have all of the above and still dyno low . My springs do have 125k on them but how much can that hurt?

tons valvetrain control becomes more important the more rpm you turn. .030 tweak of a pushrod will kill a motor, stresses compound as the square of the rpm rise

If your planning on doing the cam anyway, throw some pushrods and springs in it and see if it helps before doing the cam. Only take 2 hours. after that the cam is only 2 hours away

To be honest, I believe it was my fault.

In driving it, you couldn't really tell - except in the higher RPM's, it felt a little flat. I knew something was wrong when I got into a "spirited run" with one of my friends, and he started walking away from me (not that he was a bad driver, just that you could definity tell something was wrong - he even thought that I was shifting at 5500 RPM's)......that's what led me to have it dynoed.

.....glad it was just the push rods !

I'm just reviving this post to show how many of these '99 cars seem to dyno lower than other years.

I'm in process of building my new motor. My old motor with 2 cylinders having low compression dyno'd 322hp/338tq(with a steel DS,9inch,315/35r17 BFG's) and ran 109.5 with just a lid and borla before the motor lost compression.

My a4 99 bone stock, dirty paper filter did 283rwhp/297rwtq. 82 deg day at 104,000 miles. I had done the fra mod b4 the dyno and just put on a GMMG cat-back @ 500 miles ago. I'm at 112,000 miles now, and as soon as I get back from Taiwan, I'm going back to have it re-dynoed to see what if any gains I have with the cat-back. Heck, I might even change the plugs and wires first.

My 2000 A4 with 70K dynoed at 288/312 with FRA, lid , egr removal and K&N when I recently changed the plugs #8 had virtually no gap, I thought it had a rough idle, idle is smooth now and have added smooth bellows and cut out, will dyno to see if #'s improve, if they don't am I to assume there is something wrong with the motor? I actually thought 288HP on a 70K mile auto LS1 was "decent"
