awesome results, now maybe some people will believe me about sending their 243's off to AI . Did you mill them at all and did you have to flycut. thanks

It's alright we can still be friends. So you had to flycut your pistons?

Not sure.. the day after my motor blew on the dyno I traded some old headers for an ls1 shortblock that spun a bearing that already had flycut pistons.. so I used that block and pistons and my crank and rods.

It absolutely is doing its job! I have the lower piece off still I wonder if that would have helped at all with the car being lowered in front hmm.. I think my raceweight was around 3250 with 3/8th tank of gas on that last run. Hopefully next time I'll be down to 3100 or so. That should pick up some mph for sure.

Gold star? Nice. Just wanted to point out something that no one else had mentioned. You seemed pretty excited about a number you didn't actually get to. I still think the results were very good (as stated in my previous post), and you backed it up with an impressive trap speed.

Nitto 555r's were bald and down to about 12psi on my last pass. Air filter was still in and I didn't powershift at all because I was just trying to make a clean pass for the day. I'm happy with the results and after deployment hopefully I'll have a 9" under it with some 4.30s or 4.56s and 28" tires.

I am having one of my buddys upload the video to youtube and then I'll post a link here.
not bad on the numbers, that mph is about what I ran my 10.9x's at

you may want to get up with Sammy, he's about to try stuffing 28" tires on the back of his with 4.56 gears, 27" on mine have a little room, neither of us are lowered, just removed the isolators and put heater hose on the springs, depending on the 9" you get you may gain about 3/4" in rear height due to the axle tube and spring perches.

Get the biggest spline axles you can when you buy at least a 35 spline, or you'll be redoing it latter.

Thanks for all the comments guys.. the DA for that day was around -400. I wish I wasn't leaving, this whole track thing is growing on me as compared to street racing. I can't wait to get a rear and tires and launch at 6000rpm +

I had been stating this before and got roasted by the "sheep" on another thread. But since I am not a post *****, they tried to discredit my info.

You can make good power with 243's especially if someone knows how to massage em. But too many times guys go over kill on the dinero and only see marginal gains.... For the guys who only believe interweb or dynos, this is a good example of how making big power can be made and done without taking out a mortagage on your home.... But you have been preached to and sold on the fact that if it ain't brand X,Y,Z, you cannot make big power... I find it funny, none of those guys even post to congradulate you as well.

OP, don't worry too much about the ET, that is just a function of gearing, suspension, weight, and combination, you can work on that easily. But the true tale of the tape is the 124 mph you put down, which is sick...... I would not be mad at that or disappointed.......

Good results and goodluck, I like this........

Based on the trap speed I sent AI an email today for a cam and heads package> I would love to see what that kind of HP will do through a stalled auto...
