Default Raptor Cam and Base Tune Dyno Results!!!

I was able to get a base tune to help get the car to idle and drive better. I wanted to see what the A/F was before I got on it at all. I cant get the scan to load on the post but the A/F is 12.04-12.66 from 6k-6800 RPM's. 411RWHP & 378RWTQ was what it pulled twice in a row. After I get the full dyne tune I will post up the new results!

MODS:
Raptor Cam (236/242 .617 .613 111+2)
SLP Lid
Smooth Bellows
Ported Polished TB
Underdrive Pulley
QTP LT
ORY Y-Pipe
Borla Bullets

Nice numbers for stock heads and intake!!! What is the gear? How is the drivability on the Raptor?

Stock 241 heads and LS6 intake. It is a M6. The LS6 intake is like sucking air through a straw for this cam. Stock 10 bolt with 3.42 for now. This cam needs at least 3.90 in a M6 IMHO but driveability without a dynotune on 3.42 is fine for me. I am sure with the tune it will lose all the surgeing while cruiseing that it has from time to time now.

imo ls6 intake is not the bottle neck with stock 241s, will you gain hps, sure, but not really worth it like a with ported set.

If I change the heads, most likely wont be for a ported stock casting unless I find a steal on some.

Yea 3.42's won't cut it with this cam. I have 3.70's and I really need 4.10's for full potential but I drive my car a fair distance.

Tires, traction, gears... 11.40's

My thought process right now is 4.30 gears in a MWC 9inch or S60. Weight reduction and hopefully can get her in the high 10's. Gonna need lots of seat time as well to get back in the 6sp drag race game again.

overall how is the drivability with the 3.42s? What kind of RPM do you turn before shift point?

so how much difference is it from 4.10s to 4.30s? I have a very similar cam going in and i'm going with 4.10's an running a 28" tire more than likely. Anyone know where 4.30's would put you at the top of 4th with 4.10 vs 4.30 28" tire?

OP, how do you like the cam thus far?

Amen to this.. I STILL have 2.73's with this cam. I haven't had the time nor the $$$ for a new set. But, hopefully I should be able to get some next month. Nice numbers OP.

Driveability to me isnt that bad at all. I shift at 6600 but I dynoed up to 6800 I bet this cam will hold power through 7k, if you want to chance taking it that high.

If you are going with 28" tire then with 4.30 gears at 6800 in 4th should be about 130mph. I really like the cam since it has a strong mid range and isnt all top end.

Thanks!! I will try to get a clip up if I can find a camera with decent quality.

Where is the dyno graph? These type of posts without a graph does not help the forum much. I would hate to use the search feature to find threads like this.

I have a "x" cam and it made "Y"rwhp.
Great.

When talking about cams, we want to see WHERE the power was made on the rpm band. There already are plenty of cams that can make this kind of power if all goes well.

A cam is designed to make power at a rpm range. That is what makes it unique to the end user to suit his/her driving style.
