Terminator guys inside (I know there are a few)
My buddy is probably going to be buying a 2004 svt cobra. It has a 2.79 pulley and cat back. So I am guessing it has anywhere from 430 (low)-470(high)rwh depending on how well it is tuned correct?
My question is since my car is a bit lighter would a mild head/cam swap get me neck and neck with this car?

I've driven a bolt-on Termi, no pulley or dyno tune though, and it wouldn't come close to my cammed LS1 m6. I'm guessing a GOOD head/cam setup and the usual bolt-ons and you should be able to get him depending on who's the better driver. I'd say it would probably be a drivers race.

it all depends on combo and driver raceweight look at my sig

I'm not sure why, but some Stang guys have a problem driving their Terminators hard. Maybe it's just that they get used to the PD blower doing the work for them with the torquey powerband.
That being said, I've got a 98 Cobra with a ported blower Terminator swap and bolt on LS1's are no problem to deal with. A friend of mine has a h/c/i LS3 Fbody and it was an easy kill.

a head cam ls3 should be a solid 500 rwhp car. Do you know what he makes for power? Something's gotta be up with his car if its an easy kill. I know ported blowers can be good for 480-500 rear wheel so it should be a good race. who knows. And no im not calling BS LOL...

My car is several hundred pounds lighter than your typical Terminator so that helps. His LS3 car made 490ish rw, mine makes slightly more than that. It's the torque difference from the PD blower that really puts a hurting on most people. On the hit I always jump out silly on people. lol.

So a heads/cammed ls1 is even w/ pullied cobra thats what I thought. I am guessing to keep up with one with a ported blower you would need alot of help. Forget about the Kenne bell/Whipples right? haha

Now if this heavy g8 can handle this cobra, how the hell would a h/c/i ls3 in a 4th gen have any trouble? Somethin don't add up... That 4th gen with the ls3 swap shoulp trap over 125 to the cobras 118-120 trap??

Pretty much. Haha. KB/Whipple cars are nasty on the hit. Without nitrous, you're always going to be chasing them because on the hit they jump out really hard.

Not all ports are the same, some are ported more than others. Some guys run a port, but run a pulley only which doesn't spin it real hard.
Myself, I've got a fully ported Posi blower on my car, a 2.76 upper and a 4lb lower as well. My car is also a 98 Cobra and not some crazy heavy 03/04 car. I've raced my friends 03 Cobra with a KB 2.2 twinscrew and his car make 580rw which is about 80 more rw, but I still beat him because of the weight difference.
There are ported cars out there running 9's now too. Proper suspension, a lil juice, 800lbs of tq isn't hard at all to acheive.
Racing isn't about peak numbers.

Back in 03 my Cobra went 11.40 @121 in 90* weather with 430RWHP. It was done on Nittos also. I dont see why A pullied Cobra cant run very low 11s with bolt ons today.
A pulley, tune,CAI,and an exhaust should get you 450RW and that should be enough to go close to the tens.

exactly why I have a hard time believing a h/c/i ls3 in a 4th gen was an easy kill for you... that should be a 550+whp setup trapping over 125. Whats your 98 trap? Tell me how the hell a 4000lb g8 with only 40whp more than that cobra is putting BUS LEGNTHS on it?? Its because cobras are dyno queens. Im not saying the are slow, but they always dyno better than the run.

There is no way his car makes 550rw, I don't even know where you get that number without knowing exactly what is done to his car. I understand we're on a LSx board and you're abit biased, but don't be unreasonable. I already explained my car is much lighter than a regular 03/04 Cobra. I don't know what my car runs at the track, the project hasn't been finished long enough to know yet. I would guess it would trap 125-130 depending on the weather.
As for the G8 versus the Cobra - There is no telling what happened, we don't know since we weren't there. A full weight 03/04 Cobra isn't exactly light, 3800-3900lbs is common with driver and full tank of gas. It could have been heatsoaked, might have spun abit, wrong gear, driver error or just plain sucks, belt slip, who knows. Plus that G8 runs really well, so if the Cobra screwed up or had problems, of course it's going to look bad.
