What you do get at TEA is the assurance the heads flow what they're supposed to without any extra cost.

Wow. I thought about dumping my TEA 5.3 heads for these but I'll stick with my 430hp/420ft lb tq.

Added...

Let me say this is an auto car with a stall. I would like to see what it runs at the track. Were there any track times before?

TEA is the ****. My next set is a set of TFS225 setup for a small bore. I got a low mile 02 shortblock and want 9's. I would not entertain any other head option period.

Only change was the TEA/TFS 215cc heads at 60cc chambers and tuning. Fully tuned before and after for max results. Converter was locked on all pulls.

Peak #'s
Before 393hp/361tq
After 426hp/386tq
Gains 33hp/25tq

Good gain across the whole curve.
Nice #'s Don! I love the H/C combo you put together for me! It a beast for a street car! Im sure he's going to be very very pleased!

I use to see gains like that on my old Dynojet. Our new dyno isn't so forgiven.

For times,my old TA made 420rwhp/380tq (our dyno)and use to run 11.2's at 3720lbs. Ran a 11.5 class and always had to let off to not break out.Even on the 90 degree days.

A "generous" dyno may give a car a higher peak #, but it isn't going to make a difference on a back to back comparison. 30hp gain is 30hp gain, doesn't matter which dyno it is.

TEA is a top notch facility and their quality is excellent. I made a **** ton of power with their 5.3's over 7 years ago. It's also nice to know a company as big as them isn't going oversea's for their parts, something that can no longer be said for a LOT of other companies.

i guess the most important thing is the guy who paid for the heads happy with the results. since that guy is me im very happy. car will probably never see a track so no before and after results. also its hard to compare the car before and after the heads because i had stock 10 year old kds on with the cam only and they just burned up at 1/4 throttle. when don did the heads he had his tire guy put on some nittos for me as i was to busy to get them before car went up. im sure its not the fastest car around but it moves pretty good. i dont know exactly what a ported fast would cost installed but i think its close to the heads.i dont think you will get that kind of gain from the fast. i wanted a car i could put my two young daughters in the back and drive almost stock but then go have some fun when their not with me. i also still have the stock daul daul cat back on their some people say it sucks others say its great. might be holding me back a little.

Also the gain goes around if the Cam is cut for them. These 228's I do are mostly for stock heads and intake. We have other Cams designed for heads like these with a very close duration but the cars make more power as a combo.

This customer only wanted the cam and didn't want to do anymore mods. Said that last year.

power does seem a little low for the TFS heads...even with the cam size...i would have guessed more around 40-45 all day...

I always appreciate when a shop posts up numbers that don't blow everyone's minds. It seems that alot of the time people only post up the stellar gains. It has most people shooting for the moon with every mod when all they see online is the best of the best.
