Default New cam only dyno numbers

New custom grind form newera. Tested a few cams, sent the data to Ed Cutis, asking if he could make more power for my setup for stock heads, and still street drive the car. Send him some money, got the cam. Installed it and had mike at new era tune it.
It put down 441whp/395whp which is really good for my mods.
Street sweeper Cam I had last year did 425whp/392wtq that went 10.66's @ 128 Motors the same, just fresh valve spring kit. Pistons are flycut for PtV room. Will not clear stock pistons, I mocked it up was really tight, so I would not run it even on a auto car. The older cam I had clears fine, but I wanted more power.

2001 Z28
LS1, stock unported/milled heads, stock valvejob
1 7/8th headers, SLP 3inch 2OTL catback (no cutout)
SLP lid, 85mm TB, fast 92/92, powerbond 25% underdrive pulley
Belt on with stock WP, PS,Alt, no vacum pump.
t56 trans, dana60, 4;56 gears. 28x10.5 MTs

Only other cam that made more power was a Trex, put down 433whp, acuttly made a little more tq, 400wtq but at RPM I never see. It also drive alot worse and surged low rpms. I didnt think I was gona find anything better after a while.

Haha, doubt you'll get that, seems like he did alot of work on the specs specifically for his setup

I was surprised when I saw the specs before I got the cam. But at .05 it got high 230* low 240* Max lift is about .650 so normal dual spring kit supports it, and stock rockers that I'm running.

The major drop after 6600ish rpm doesn't look too good.

I think its the fast intake, its not happy right there. Mike that tuned it said theirs a airflow limit right there, then it comes back.

The flipped colors on that graph threw me off for a second there

Very impressive gains!

Looks to me that's where they let out.
What RPM did they rev it to studderin?

that is strange that their would be an airflow limit then it picks back up...does seem to drop off kinda hard, probably from the big boy lift...I know I had to lighten stuff up when I had the heavy valves, yt rockers, .624 lift

congrats man should be dropping et soon

No it was WOT, I've been taking last pulls to 7K and see what was going on. That 425whp sweetsweeper was with 2 years on my patriot spring kit BTW. I tested the springs after and were were down a little, But it was still good on the dyno as you can see. Most of the pulls have only been to 6600 or whatever, while dialing the tune in and doing some little +/- 1* timing ranges. After mike was done. I had him the back up to 7. This new cam went a little more I noticed after the pull I though it was 7300, but he said 7150 on HPT from in the car, and thats what the dynojet said too FYI. Some of the other pulls Its wasn't so flat 6800-7100, it went up, or had a little hump to it?

The streetsweeper cam ran the fastest with the shiftlight at 6400 BTW. I dont really scan the car at the track but. I htink I shift the 1-2 a lighter higher, but 2-3 3-4 are right on I had them before 6600. I know when the light was gona come on after a few hundred passes. Thats something I told ed, I wanted to gain some rpms if it was possible. More so I can launch higher. I doesn't shift as easy of the 2step is set higher then the shiftlight. When it went the 10.6s with open headers, I had to shift kinda slow, if you noticed in the vids. Had the 2step set up at 6500-6600 it would 60's best there.

cam seem's strong andvery stable. also sounds like you need to wire a micro switch for first gear so the 2 step only kicks on in first i was having the same problem. every gear was a big boom from the 2 step and power shifting
