Bobby sent me a PM I think I am going to let him do them and maybe get a set of aftermarket valves. I don't think my donkey dick cam and these stock valves are getting along to well at 7200 rpm. Not that it isn't doing ok as is, I know it could be greatly improved.

So did you get the 227/226 cam? Custom Grind? What are you doing to the exhaust? We should all get together for a track outing on the 15th when Piedmont opens back up.

I've had the cam for a few weeks. PatG speced it.

I'm gonna do something similar with my exhaust as zzracer but modify my merge a little differently to work with the bullet muffler that I have in my i-pipe. And I'm going to eliminate my 2.25" tail pipes.

I may have my cam in by then, I'm just wondering now if the springs that I have on the car will work with the bigger lift cam. I'm going to pull one and check it. As long as it clears at all I'll run them for the time being. And I'll probably get the extra set of springs that IH8FORD will have off of his car, but they're might be a few other changes made at that time.

I really just like dynoing the car. To me it's nearly as fun as racing but you don't have to worry about breaking as much or hooking. I wish I knew how accessible HED's dyno was before I sold the CTSV to IH8FORD.

Word, you doing this at IH8FORD's place? You gonna put dump the tail pipe under the car? Getting rid of the tail pipes might take away from your "sleeper" theme. You should let Bobby port those 243's for you while they are off. I think I am going to try and either get him to port my 241's or I might pick up a set of 5.3 head's and get the CR up at the same time along with porting them and having a VJ done.

What do you mean by accessible, meaning they don't use it a lot or that you get to use it for free, lol!

At Bobby's. I'm gonna change the 2.25 pipes for 2.5/3. When did I say I was taking the heads off? I'm gonna pull a spring off and check it.

I just didn't know how easy it was to get an appointment (Bobby texts Kevin and tells him when we are coming) and it's not that expensive.

Smart ***, I assumed

I'd like to get a baseline of where my car is at now, and then re-dyno it again after the headwork is done to see how much it gained.

Hell yea Jon you picked up 10 rwhp! That goes to show you what you did worked. I see a bullet in the I-pipe after the merge, did you just ditch the muffler part of the cat-back and keep the tailpipes? So you just have one muffler in I-pipe being the bullet. What size was the old Y 2 1/2"? New one looks like 3", and what kind of merge is that? Looks good bro, did IH8FORD or zzracer weld that up for you?

I'd like to get whoever welded that up for you to weld some bullet mufflers or some "real" mufflers on my car. The Vibrants work well, but it's just too loud to drive around for more than 30 minutes at a time, and everyone in my neighborhood I'm sure hates me now.

I welded it for Jon. Both y-pipes are 3'' and he still has both mufflers.

All of HED thinks we're stupid for dynoing every other week and only making a few hp gains here and there. But if I'm gonna have something on my car, like headers and ORY, it might as well be as good as they can be.

My old Y was 3" It just leaked/rattled a lot and I wanted a better merge. I had that bullet on the end of my old y-pipe. I just thought that having it right off of the merge would possibly make it work a little better and reducing the rasp.

You could do your exhaust with ball flanges like ours so if you have a quiet/heavy muffler on the car you could drop it in minutes. I could literally jack my car up and have the y-pipe off in 5 minutes.

I track test and document everything myself. But, the track is only 20 miles from me.

Well I can kinda see why they think that. ****, if we had cars that ran 4.80's and 4.90's in X275 and 4.50's in ODR and made 1500rwhp or 2000+rwhp we'd think going from 390 ish to 400 ish is a waste of time and effort, but to us it's worth every little bit. I mean then again, I'm sure there are tons of little things that they do to their cars that we'd find stupid too like Chad having to bring 4 50 gallon coolers full of ice just for his intercooler tanks/transmission cooler/coolant for one race, and even then I've seen him run out and have to go to the store to buy more.

That 10rwhp should get you your 6.90 pass though, 15th looking like a good date to go?

We do the same thing, Jon always datalog's his run's and bobby's(zzracer) and some of our other buddies when he is there at the track with us.

I have a notepad I write all my suspension setting's down on and note time, weather conditions, 60', 330', 660' etc. and what changed from each pass to the next. Only way to have a consistent set-up. I know Jon can pretty much run the number he runs whenever he wants to 9 out of 10 times. ZZracer probably could too, and I feel confident enough in mine now that I could go 7-8 out of 10.

IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!! Real world results would show that you gain .6 going from stock gearing to even 373s.

Nice results man.. What are you going to tweak to hit 6.XX?

I see you hit 7.0X already.. Before the exhaust change?

6.9s are in the bag.
