As soon as I collect some more coke bottles, I'll have a electric water pump that will take care of the belt throwing.

Your signature says Mast 245 Heads. Are they cathedral port heads on this engine?

There's a cheaper fix than this. Buy a Katech belt tensioner and your problem will be solved. I had the same issue with my built 403ci engine and we are pretty close power wise. Put the new tensioner on and never throw another belt again.. This is where I bought mine from.. I know of to many people that has had issues with an electric water pump on a street car. If it's a all out race car then you are o.k. but if I were you I would want to leave the mechanical pump in favor of the electric pump and it's not like you will make more hp going to the electric pump. It might take a 1/2 hp to turn it. Just my .02

If your car weighs as much a mine does (3540lbs race weight) You should be a low 10 second high 9 second car with that motor. I went 10.39@129mph right off the trailer. Once the motor lossens up some and I get my rear anti sway put on I should be able to lower my 60ft into the 1.36-1.38 from 1.41 and shave some off the big end. I'm hoping for 10.0x's or 10.1x's at the track next time out.. I
