Damn stuff runs better than gas at stations
gotcha, 98blueSS comment threw me off. I thought he was implying a 25 rwhp jump going from 93->104.

Either way, nice numbers! Let us know when you get to the track. Any susp. work? 11.2@122 is moving for 390rwhp, you definetly have that thing dialed in!

setup has more left in it with more compression. I would like to see at least 11.5.1 and good gas. so it will give you room if you want to use the heads on a bigger cube build.

Thinking about it, it wouldn't because the FAST102 is built for bigger cubic inch engines anyways. Like the sound of the beast!

X2

Low static compression and a big cam really dont play well together.....the fact you made the power you did is actually impressive.

Your cylinder pressure and DCR is suuuuper low with this set-up. You could have easily ran 11.5 with pump gas and not experienced any knock whatsoever with even a so-so tune (wouldn't have to be deadly spot on). Both torque and HP would have been up considrably.....compression really helps larger cammed combo's because the overlap and late valve events kill the cylinder pressure and the name of the game is to try and build as much cylinder pressure as possible.....thats whats creating all the twisting force in the first place.

A 102 TB is worth another 5 ponies on this combo btw.....not the end of the world but it all adds up. More compression (especially with a tight quench) and a larger TB would have put the torque over 430 and close to 500 to the ground on power.

Car sounds great btw....love the exhaust note!

More in it if your up for going in and wrenching again!

Enjoy the new combo

-Tony

PS....Would like to see the dyno curve.....any way to post that up?

Wow....didn't realize this was on Norris's dyno (the Humbler.....LOL). Its actually quite stingy.....his STD numbers are lower than most dyno's SAE figures. In fact Im pretty sure he runs most of his cars on that correction factor now because its closer to a typical Dynojet number.

Anyway....if you take the car apart to mill the heads consider sending the 102 off to me to get ported....I would suspect we could clear the 500 mark with the intake, compression, and TB change. the entire curve would be fatter and it would come up on the cam much faster with a a little more cylinder pressure from the higher CR figures.

I am glad Tony posted on your compression,or lack of it,as i was going to ask you the same ? why so little. Chris has fly cutting tools if you need them, also his motor is just over 12/1 and he adds a spash of 100 no lead to it with no KR.

Hi Elmer
It's fly cut

I should ask more on heads
I dOnt know that much bout that stuff
I just want hp and will drive the shot out of it

I called Louis G told him send me some heads for a 2002 that's bout as far as it went

The cam was for my 2011... Then I bought a 2002 and kept the 11 bolt ons and just used the cam for that car,,, then just ordered heads and intake for the 2002

I'm sure we'll get it tweaked a bit more

I didn't want Jason to spend money on heads twice. Yep, the compression is low, but they will fit golden on his 427 or 415 like his last car. The 346 won't last long, so I didn't feel right selling him heads twice. It'll either give up the ghost, or Jason will upgrade. Either way, he is going to wring it out!

Tony, this is the car we spoke about regarding 225s and small bore, and what gasket to use.

2 more points of compression will help a ton. Just put a 4" crank in it!

Take the heads off and bump that compression... you can always use the same heads on a bigger motor, i.e. (you are going to buy pistons anyways so just get dished instead of flat or domed)

.040 gasket will bump you ~.4 alone...

Also your tuner is right if you are running a 98-104mm FTP lid the 102 TB will not help much at all...The restriction in the intake track is the lid...It flows similiar to around a 85mm bellmouth opening...and yes there is no difffernce between the 104mm and the 98mm (they both neck down the same)...that is why i made a custom 4" bellmouth lid ...I picked up 6rwhp from just a lid swap and that was with a 92mm tb for both runs.
