Default LS2, TFS 215, Fast 102, VRX5= 496.9rwhp/446.5rwtq

So after after waiting for such a long time I finally got my car together and together and to the dyno. 496.9rwhp, 446.5rwtq. Parts and dyno were

LS2 shortblock
VRX5 cam (236/238 601/605 113)
Stock Trickflow 215 with .650 lift springs (from vengeance)
Yella Terra 1.7 rockers
Vengeance ported 102 intake, 92 fast TB
36lb injectors at 80% duty cycle
85mm MAF
Tick stage 2 T56
Spec 2
Kooks 1 7/8 LTs, with Kooks TDs (no cats)
Strange 12 bolt with 3.73 gears
NGK TR55 plugs, MSD wires
UD pulley (mystery no name brand)

A huge thanks to Ron at vengeance for the parts. Charlie and Austin at RPM motors in Santa Clarita for a great tune, and of course my buddies Chris, and chino with helping with the install and getting her running.

Any advice on how to get over that 500 mark? I don't have a catch can which Charlie mentioned that I deffinately need. I dynoed with 18" wheels and 315/30/18 street tires.

Maybe a better induction system and a 102 tb. Maf or SD tune? Either way pretty freaking awesome numbers. Heads straight out of the box?

Well they came with .600 lift springs took them to Richard at WCCH to have .650 lift springs installed. I also wanted to verify the CC of the heads. He did nothing aside from that. Stock valves, GM ls2 head gasket.

I have another set of TFS 215 those are milled to 59cc which I was saving for an L92 experiment. I might do a head swap to get me another 10-15 hp that I'm leaving on the table according to Charlie.

Thats a really nice setup. Im addicted to these stock shortblock LS2/TFS heads combo's.
I see a set of TFS225's on my 6.0 in the near future.

Thanks, I was also debating on doing the 225s but ended up going with the 215s for better bottom end TQ. The 215 flow numbers are based of off a 3.9 bore vs the 225s are on a 4.0 bore. The 215s will improve flow when flowed on a 4.0 bore. As I was told by T.E.A. I believe I spoke with Mike about it.

Very impressive numbers. With a few tweaks you will be over 500rwhp.

Thanks, can't wait to fire up that beast of yours. We will see how my L92 does on my 68 camaro.

Milling them would get you some more power, or just go back on a colder day

That's possibly next. I might just pull these heads off and install the set sitting in my garage.

The "plan" was to dyno first thing in the morning. With my luck ALT gave out during the street tune(actually my battery gauge was showing very low as I was pulling into the shop). Luckily Charlie and his crew ordered a new ALT for me and swapped it out. But by this time it was already almost 2pm and HOT!!

Any opinions on swapping to an NGK TR6 plug? Heard it might help a bit.

Mine ran a little rough with the TR55's, swapped them out for TR6's and the engine runs a lot smoother/efficient.

I read the "Rule of thumb" is one degree colder for every additional 100~ hp

Yea I'm going to do the small changes and see if I get that magic number. Or swap a stock 10 bolt in lol. As far as the heads go, I have the milled heads so eventually I might swap the heads. Figure I might enjoy the car as is for at least a few months.

Yeah that thing will certainly do you more good putting smiles on your face than sitting chasing another 10-15 horsepower while your swapping heads. Wait until you've got the itch to do it and then it will be time

I wouldn't worry about cracking the number really, you wouldn't be able to tell a 5hp difference it might show it up the dyno maybe the track if you can run really consistently and do some before and after comparisons.

Hell throw two donuts on that bitch with a 10-bolt and there you go 500 hp
