Steve you realize your old cam on a 105lsa(correct?) has more overlap than your current cam....
250/250 105=40
258/264 112=37
This is assuming I have your cam specs correct? We all know what assumptions are good for 9/10.....
Did you install the new cam straight up Steve? You should of put it in +4 or +6 advanced I bet the numbers would of been different. Still potentially not better than the smaller cam, but I bet the curve would of looked a lot different.

Yes he does, not enough air pulling through for that duration, the smaller cam most likely used up every ounce of air the heads could provide and that's why it worked so nice...

Updates ? Just curious as I'm porting some stock 317's at home for my Lq9 build out of a 04 Escalade. I am going to have a small cam in it though 222/224 566/568 @112. Gonna have a Fast 90 mm intake and TB to top it off. Deciding how much I wanna mill off the heads as I didn't plan on flycutting.

No updates, pulled it apart to send intake off two weeks ago.., for some porting, and match my new 243's that I had done.. Car ran good.. If your running a plastic intake be careful shaving too much off.. I had a good send off though..

Nice good ****. I was thinking of milling .030 - .040 off the heads. Debating if I go .040 if I'll have intake issues. I have no issues drilling out the holes for the bolts to line up I am just not sure what other issues there would be with sealing.
