Default C6 Grandsport EPS cam full exhaust 499/463 Mustang Dyno

Hey guys my buddy Joe's new Grand Sport C6 just posted these numbers on a Mustang Dyno yesterday which I think are very impressive for a mild cam, 499rwhp and 463 rwtq. Stock dry sump LS3 and full exhaust. His exhaust is Borla LT's and X-pipe with no cats and Corsa cat back. And some sort of K&N intake.

** EDIT CORRECT CAM SPECS: 226/234 114+2 .598/.612 **

I think the cam specs are in the 222/226 114 LSA range will have to double check.

Here's some vids from facebook.

I love the grand sports. They really like Cams but no way it makes 499hp with that cam on a dyno calibrated correct. Good for about 440-455rwhp.
Sounds like they gave him a calculated engine hp graph.

Cam has to be bigger than that to be making that much power...good numbers either way.

Interesting, I had my other car on this same dyno a couple months back and the numbers seemed spot on. It's a 99 Trans Am, 346 LS1, T56, similar EPS 222/226 114 baby cam, ported 243's, LS6 intake, ported TB, Kooks LT's and True Dual system and it made 424/412 which seemed spot on. The numbers on this C6 seemed on the high side so I wanted to post them because I was so impressed.

Numbers do seem high on the GS with that baby cam. Do you happen to have a dyno graph of your Trans Am mentioned above?

Agreed no way its making those numbers. It seems alot of the times mustang dyno's inconsisent.

Justa side note, A few years ago I bought a complete engine intake to oil pan, headers and dyno tuned PCM from a guy off this site. He made 463/414 on a mustang dyno thru a 12 bolt, 6 speed. I installed everything into my WS6Expecting to see 480/425 on a dynojet thru my 10 bolt. Nope...I dyno'd the car on 3 different dyno's. The first dyno showed 455/410 DynoJet, 2nd dynojet showed 457/415 and on a stang dyno 463/xxx.

It seems to me some of the MD dynos have actually been reading pretty damn High "WCF" had a friend dyno a ZL1.. car made 553/523 UNCORRECTED... WCF = 621/584wtq This is on a 30*F day with the shop door, (About 8 feet behind the rollers) WIDE OPEN and both large fans and squirlcage booster running on high...

Had a Tune,K&N cold air 2013 LS3 Camaro on it too, said it was making 408whp WCF.. stayed there consistently tho... I thought I was doing well with tuning, but numbers seemed VERY VERY High!

2002 C5Z, Haltech CAI - 396whp WCF...

Its not my dyno, just a shop that I'm doing sublet work for. Mustang MD1100 unit... Installed by Mustang Dyne Techs less than 6 months ago..

Possibly they have set the "Parasitic's Multiplier" to 2.1, that will let you see indicated numbers from a MD similar to a DJ. No affect to accuracy, just how the Parasitic curve is applied.

Is that the exact cam that went in? Can you get the full specs of it? Was the cam custom spec'd or chosen off the shelf?

No, I think you guys are correct. The cam was custom spec'd by Geoff and Joe will get me the specs today I think it is bigger than I thought and I will post his dyno graph today. I think it shows the WCF #'s which are slightly lower.

Mustang dynos are the most accurate. They tennd to give you a lower HP dont they? but anyhow, badass car and good numbers!

With that cam it would probably make in the 460rwhp range on a dyno jet so even lower on a mustang dyno. Something is really off.

Thats the same cam I'm running in my 6.0 Impala if your cam specs are correct...I really think 499 is definitely inflated or something is off. If you do get the correct specs, please post them, as I would like to see them.

I'm sorry guys, the cam specs are incorrect. My mistake. I've asked Joe for the correct specs, but I don't think it's anything massive. As soon as I get them I will post up and edit the orig post.

In the idle video it dont sound like a 114 LSA. Thats at least a 112LSA on a high 230's cam on stock rear gears. Only reason i say stock rear gars is becaue it takes it a while to get up to redline in the video. I may be wrong.
