Default 2000 6 speed ls1 to ls6 intake manifold dyno results...

So just finished swapping out the ls1 intake for a ls6 and so far I"m pretty happy. I dynoed the car back in the spring at Debaise Brothers in Wallingford CT on their DynoJet dyno. With the mod's in my sig, It put down 334 hp and 341 ftlbs with my air fuel at 11.9.

Went back to the dyno on the 18th this time with the Ls6 intake installed, and the car made 344 hp and 361 ftlbs with my air fuel at 11.5. Now as far as i know the car has never been tuned but when I deleted my air and egr it threw no codes so idk. Seat of the pants i cant feel any real difference but throttle response is better. I just ordered a Potz ported Throttle body so when i get that on i may go back to the dyno and see how much if any power that adds.

Why not go ahead and get it tuned?

I'm gonna cam it soon so I figure I'll get it tuned once I do that.

Would rip with a cam! Just what the headers and intake are begging for.

Nice gains! Your car has always been strong, but with a cam you'll really hurt some feelings. What cam are you going with?

Ya screamin z the car always surprised me to, it runs awesome, I would love to get something along the line of the Thunder Racing Cheater V3, i want it to idle like stock. I'm not looking to put down the highest numbers i just want a cam that keeps the stock power band, idle's smooth but picks up power everywhere.

haha don't we all.

good results for just an intake swap. i'm not sold on them yet, though. adding one to a car i had a few years ago did nothing.

My dad has this cam in his car and it made 375rwhp with an ls1 manifold and stock catback. It would probably be pushing 390-400rwhp with a manifold and catback. You can't even tell it has a cam in it, but it picked up power everywhere.

Damn. Id say it would definitely be close to 400rwhp with exhaust and ls6 intake. That's a very small cam, what lobes is it ground on? Are they hard on springs?

I switched to a ls6 intake last year. It was noticibly more power. I think a stock car would get 5 to 10 rwhp and a full exhaust should get 15-20 rwhp
