don't add octane boosters,some can gum up and wreck things.

No haterade. At least now I know what I should have run with my car since our mph's are similar. With out the Atco crew none of the rest of us would know how fast our cars could be.

Years ago when I was building race bikes and had a dyno, people used to ask me what I thought their bikes would read...I would often reply "What do you want it to read?" Dyno's are tools - like a micrometer. They can be precise but if you crank a micrometer down you can easily get an incorrect reading.

If you are gaining 20+ hp from a cut out that is just showing how crappy the exhaust is on the car.

Here's one for example.

We had a GTO in here the other day we did a heads cam swap on. On the first pull the numbers were way lower than what we expected for the first pull. I checked the tire pressure to find out the right rear tire had 24psi of air in it and the left rear had 36psi of air in it. Just bringing that right rear tire up to 36psi to match the left tire gained 18rwhp and 18rwtq.

When I dyno my race car I dyno it with how much air I'm going to run at the track. Of course I could pump them up from 19psi to 35psi and make 20-30rwhp more, but it is not realistic. That GTO is a street car that will be running 36psi all the time so there is no argument there in terms of "inflating dyno numbers".

Martin I have seen roughly the samething, did a customers LS3 with around 15lbs in the tire intially lol.

As far as tricks, if you ever see a hairdryer near the dyno you'll probably have inflated numbers.

Lol I bet that was a disappointment until the tire pressure was found!
