Default HS 1.8 Dyno Results

A month ago after installing the LSX, I got 355 RWHP SAE on a DynoJet. Yesterday I layed down 370.6 RWHP SAE. This was after installing the Harland Sharp 1.8 Rocker Arms (+ LS6 valve springs so I could rev past 5500 rpm). I also gained 2 lbs of torque, now at 360.7 RWTQ. This is on a stock motor, with an A4, 3.23 gears & 315 tires. And I can now rev to 6300 rpm before the hp flattens out!

Not too shabby for a bolt on A4 car. Just think, with an ORP in place you'd probably be at the 380 mark ..... Mark

LOL...too bad I'm a tree hugger. Swap out my A4 for a 6speed, and I might hit 400!

I've never seen the stock cam that stable near 6k. That's amazing for a bolt-on A4! What year is the car? Even before the rocker numbers are real stout.

I thought you'd like that Nate. I was pleased! The strangest part about these rockers & maybe explains why I gained so much is my car was always lean....to the point of KR. I got a couple custom tunes form RWTD, and they helped. His last one finally got the car close. But the rocker arms made the car a LOT richer. Not sure why, but my A/F was 13.1 at 4000 rpms & 12.8 at 6200 on the dyno. Never has it been that good!

Oh, and my car is a 2000 Ram Air.

And you better be nice Bill or I'll tell people you painted my LSX.

Was the power gains seen only up top (>4000 rpm) or did you see an across the board improvement?

Dang, I forgot to figure that part out. I got so wrapped up in trying to figure out where I wanted my tranny to shift that I didn't look at that. Visualizing the chart I wanna say it was across the board, but I will check when I go home & tell you for sure.

The gains all came above 4k. After the PPC headers & before the LSX my car climbed steadily to 345 @ 5900. They helped across the board. With the LSX it continued to climb up to 355 @ 5500 & then flattened out. It also helped above 4k. Now to climbs to 370 @ 6k & flattens out.
