I only had .020" on the intake side...exhaust side I cant remember but I had plenty of room. I wanted to keep the compression up as much as possible, so cutting on the exhaust side when it didnt need it was not gonna happen.

The brand new LS2 timing chain I installed in this motor broke this past weekend. Safe bets are the motor is trashed...was at 5k in third gear playing around after installing a 4" cutout and slp dual/dual muffler on the car. Open y-pipe was starting to attract negative attention...made it around 1300 miles and chain snapped. No warning, car running stout as usual then dead as hell.

That truly sucks. FWIW: I really like that cam with the L92 heads. I believe it is a 234-242 which is extremely similar duration-wise to what I'm running in my small cam 427 and close to the best cams I ran in the 403 build.

Wow thats not cool at all! You see a lot of people running the ls2 timing chain but then again I think I've seen on here there a little sloppy? Maybe it got to much slop in it and broke?

I guess we'll see when me and Phil tear into it.

WKMCD - yep..mine specd out to 234/243 .598"/.611" 111.5 +4 when we degreed it. I love the cam! I was weary at first b/c its a little larger than I really wanted to run and hearing all the BS about rectangle port heads not making low end power...I couldnt be happier with the setup. 350 lbft at 3k in my opinion is very good with a stock 6.0L and a larger cam. Now I just gotta get it fixed and get back to having fun! The car will have an 8.8 rear in it when its fixed a new fuel pump, and I have already picked up a billet double roller timing set. Hopefully the damage isnt real bad.

I read your thread about the cam swaps with L92 heads while I was setting all this up. I liked what I saw from this cam with those heads plus my tuner has seen several cars do real well with this cam and the similar 235/243 lsl lobed comp cam.

People who say these heads don't have bottom and mid power can shampoo my crotch...

Stock bolts standard hex and stock plate...the motor was basicly all stock parts minus cam, valve spring kit, pushrods, arp 2000 rod bolts, 60lb injectors, and arp head bolts. I dhould have went double roller timing set but I figured ls2 chain could handle it.

Havent even tore it down or pulled it out yet. Havent had time to do it or money to fix what all could be damaged yet. Its probably gonna be really nasty inside.

That sucks Moe! I haven't had a chance to make it back out to your neck of the woods, but I was hoping to line em up soon! Hopefully you're fortunate and can get by without a rebuild. I guess I used up a lifeline on mine when 2 rocker studs broke on the Yella Terras that came on the car and didn't hurt anything.

Itll be running again sometime...im always up for a race! This motor was dyno'd with 48 miles on it and 7-8 races that night..and had over 15 street races before 150 miles...lol...ill run everything coming and goin if I can! Win or lose doesnt matter...all that matters is it was built to play with and thats what its got!
