Default What do you think my car will dyno tomorrow?

I am getting my car tuned @ APE here in MI, what do you think I will do? (btw-they have a mustang dyno)

Previous mods/dyno (same dyno)

Patriot Performance Stage 2 5.3L heads
TSP 232/228 .595/.588 112LSA cam
TSP Clear induction lid
Manley Hardened pushrods
Comp 978 springs
TI retainers
Ported oil pump

Suspension/Drivetrain
BMR STB

Results: 345rwhp/322rwtq @6400rpms
(this is on a mustang dyno)

Current mods:

Patriot Performance Stage 2 5.3L heads
TSP 232/228 .595/.588 112LSA cam
TSP Clear induction lid
Pacesetter LT's
Pacesetter ORP
Manley Hardened pushrods
Patriot Performance gold valve springs
new TI retainers
LS6 Intake
3" Cutout

Suspension/Drivetrain
BMR STB
BMR Driveshaft Safety Loop
BF Goodwrich KDWS 285/40/17 & 275/40/17
Lou's Short Stick

What do you think I will put down? Remember this is a mustang dyno.
For gauging, without the ls6 intake, I beat an '03 cobra w/catback by 3-5 cars the other week.

Post up and let me know what you think!

LOL... I'd almost pay for you to go to a dynojet. Those Mustang dyno's are fishy

Nah, not fishy. Just not very comparable. They are a hell of a lot better for tuning than a standard Dynojet though.

Yep, everyone so hung up on DYNO #s it's insane. A Mustang dyno is a far better dyno to use if you want to really tune your car vs the Dyno jet. If you aren't interested in a better tune and just want higher dyno #s then hop on the dyno jet.

v8maro, the comparsion will be pointless unless you're re-dynoing on a Mustang, and even then, there are quite a few variables out there to mess with before giving an accurate guess.

The dyno is the same one I had my original tune on, the APE dyno. So the only thing changing is weather and mods

I guess I should feel pretty good about the 363 I threw down on the mustang at livernois motorsports on sat.
I am running a 222/222 566/566 lunati and LGM longtubes, x-pipe, stingers
Stock ls1 heads and stock ls1 intake & t-body.
I am going to put on an ls6 intake and hit dyno daves dyno-jet and get my 400+ bragging numbers.
Best of luck with your set-up I would be upset with anything less than 400 -- even on the mustang.

Well, I don't have some key mods that may put me under the 400 mark, like ASP pulley, ported TB, and true duals. Not to mention a clutch to handle all of it.

I do not have a pully or a ported t-body.
I am still on the ls1 intake too.

I would want much much higher numbers with that set-up....I am hoping for 370+ on the mustang w/ my 222 cam only and when I add the LS6 I will be well over 400 on the dynojet.
Like I said I'm 363 hp now.....just numbers though.

Yes I was if i have my ls6 intake on I will try and make that one too.
Most stocker vettes were pulling 300-310 on the mustang (right on the money)with exhaust/airfilter type mods. A caddie CTV tossed down 330 stock so did a 2000 FRC -- which is nuts for a stock vette. Get there early to get it done they did maybe 8 cars between 10 & 2. They have not seen an lsx intake come through yet. Do you know anybody with a dynojet around Detroit ?

383/346 @ 6400rpm

Good news is gained through the whole rpm band, not just peak

Kurt said I am leaving a lot on the table with the pacesetter Y and a stock TB. A pulley should help too.

My next plans are to switch to stage 2 ls6 heads, ported tb, asp pulley, trueduals.
That should put me at 400(+?) on that mustang dyno.

Will do thanks man. I have been there once before.
Kinda ghetto -- Dave could not hook my vette up and he "thought I had an electrical problem" Whatever he could still get a hp figure but not a torque or accurate RPM.

Was that 346 meaning torque above ?

Not a knock at all but isn't 346 really really low for such a killer HP number on the Mustang ? Where did the torque go ?

It'll jump with gears and some other key mods. I don't have a standard split like you.
