don't let em get ya down man. Your gonna need some suspension and gonna need to launch at 6 grand or so...but on the right track at the right day it can be done. You are gonna have to drive your *** off though. Just for the record I'm 3400ish lbs..not 3550(my first 10- sec. passes were at 3450ish). Made 439/403 . I also leave at only 5000-5200 because of such a flat torque curve. I actually at about 380ish rwtq by 3000 rpms and it just goes up so it hits the tires pretty hard at that rpm and doesn't have a boggin problem like I have seen most of the ls1s out there. Don't let the featherweights get you down man(its much easier for them)....but don't expect anything steller over the summer..weather is getting bad here now. Work on getting some weight out, do some suspension, get alot of seat time and when the good air gets here that thing will be flying.

thanks tim. i said you were 3350 not 3550 btw or were you comparing your weight to mine. im not going to expect any amazing numbers in this horrible weather we have now but low 11's would due after my hals go on. and i specifically built up the car to take 6000 dumps, so well see what happens.

woops...I meant 3350...that was a typo on my part..lol. What other suspension do you have right now? 6000 or 6000+ is what you will need...you will find the weakest link in your drivetrain though...hehehehe.

well i have a new 12bolt, new 4.56's new cusom 3.5"ds, every bmr suspension product, only thing still stock is the shocks, but not for long.
the posi might die eventually. has a new spec stg. 4 clutch. that should hold for a while. trans might die, but they all do eventually. and as far as driving my but off. i can handle that part, i got refferences.

I don't want to start a flame, but I don't understand all these HUGE cam only numbers!!! And this is why...
I have a M6 Formula with APE Stage 2 2.02/1.57 ls1 heads that are about 2 1/12 years old, so I'm sure they could be gone threw and pick up some extra haggies (horsepower, that is ) My cam is a 232/238 595"/605" on a 112, so not quite as big as the Trex, but by no means small! Compression is around 10.7. Grott 1 3/4 LT's, 3" Y-pipe and a Bullet. 3" chromoly DS, 9" w/ Locker and 4.57's. 28" Et streets. My dyno #'s were on a Mustang Dyno, 389rwhp/368rwtq. Now I know that the Mustang dyno reads a little lower, and the DS, 9", locker, 4.57's and the 28" et streets probably kill quite a bit of power, but how is it possible that a car with stock heads, compression and a cam a little bigger than mine put down more power????? I just don't follow

The car has gone the best of 11.65 @ 118 w/ a 1.58 60, with my old setup 232/232 574"/574" on a 114, 4.30's, and less suspension mods. I haven't got any good passes with all the new stuff, but if the car goes 11.30's I will be absolutley happy!!! This is with a 3580# race weight. I just don't think a cam only car weighing 3480 could 10's! If he does than more power to 'um!! If he does than I will assume that I need to spend a lot more time getting my car setup correctly!!!

Sorry for the long post, but I just need some explaination as to why my car is putting down less power and running slower than a very similarly modded and weighted cam only car! Ohh and the shifting isn't a problem...thanks to the Liberty Pro-shifted Trans!!!!
NO FLAMES INTENDED!!!!!!!

.
Answer:

There is a lot more to a cam then duration, lift and LSA .... Just as everything else, R&D brings about new advances and developments .... even some of the "small" cams now adays are putting up some pretty respectable numbers.

yep, thats what i was going to say also.
what is you altitude at the track you run at.
and if i dont go 11.3 miniumum after getting used to the car ill be a lil disapointed its going to all depend on the lauching ability of my current configuration.
