Default Very First Dyno Run :)

Below are the results of the first time ever on a dyno Only real performance mod's is the airbox/K&N setup that came with the hood and the Flowmaster Catback.

I'm pretty pleased with 308.5 HP / 324.6 TQ. I was expecting it to be in the mid 280's... I was told by the guy running the Dyno that the car started to lose power ~5400 RPM's where as the other intake/exhaust LS1's that had being dyno'd before me continued to make power up to 6000??

I looked at other stock graph results in the forum but I can't really make sense of it all My results look similar to that of other's on here at least? I know there could be many reasons as to why it seems to drop off so quickly? I don't generally wind the car out that high very often either way but I'm interested in getting input from some of you Pro's as to what could be the source of the problem? I'm sure it could be a # of things? I was planning on doing a plug/wire swap very soon either way... is there a chance that an old plug or wire could be having a hard time keeping up with the RPM's?

eh my car made 297hp@5400 rpms & 297@5900 so at least in my case hes got a point but i wouldnt be overly concerned at this point.

From what I know about stock Dyno pulls your car ran very well. Especially for being a 99 with more restricive Exhaust Manifolds and a LS1 Intake. I think that your power died off in the same place most cars do. Your graph is pretty identical to mine.

I've never seen a stock LS1 dyno peak hp at 6000. Your dyno guy's crazy. Your numbers are right on par with where they should be. You might be able to get the peak rpm up just a touch with a cutout...as the flowmaster exhaust is known for being somewhat restrictive.

I'm not sure if he really meant that I should peak at 6K but rather the HP should stay a little more steady rather than dropping between 5400 - 6000. Sorry if I confused you I saw the dyno print out's of a few other LS1's that ran before me and their lines did seem to hold a little more steady until shut off at 6000 if that makes any sense?

Why wouldnt a stock LS1 make power to redline?

My car made peak Hp at about 6K, but that was after tuning and set of longtube headers and larger dia. cat's and ypipe was installed. The car made max hp at 5500 prior to the install, so I think that you're stock #'s for the year of your car is about right.
