Default horsepower loss from hv oil pump

Have any of you guys ever seen anything about how much horsepower is lost by using a high volume oil pump? My car dyno'ed 379 rwhp before my engine build. The only additions I made during my build was PRC stage 2.5 5.3 heads and a Mellings 10296 oil pump. I had the car put back on the same dyno and the car put down 385 rwhp. I was kind of disappointed with a 6hp increase but started thinking the oil pump may have robbed some of the additional hp from the heads.

Not gonna happen with the oil pump, I take it you have an auto car cause those numbers are really low if not.

You're saying the oil pump doesn't cause a horsepower loss? I have an m6 car but if I want high numbers I'll have it put on a dynojet. On a mustang dyno those aren't bad numbers.

No the oil pump wont hurt numbers. They arent bad for a mustang dyno. I would assume a dynojet would net around 430rwhp.

A lot of people do not like your intake. I personally have no experience with it but I have never seen a car make good power with it.

a hv oil pump does soak up some power but not that much.

I'm disappointed I didn't pick up more with the heads then. I'm glad you mentioned the intake. I've gotta get some recommendations on a good intake for my build.

Auto or stick you should have picked up at least 25hp from your baseline with those heads. And hopefully your change is better but years ago cam only I did 382 on a mustang dyno and then 383 on a dynojet. Not all mustang dynos read lower.
