how would I do against a vette?

how would I do against a vette? Hey guys. A buddy of mine has been running his mouth about my car for a few months now saying he'd blow my doors off. He has a stock 98 corvette with an automatic. How do you guys think I would do against him, from a dig or a roll? My mods are listed below.

You should have no problem with him. Early c5 + auto. Weight is the only advantage it has. Same mods he would be faster. Above 100 aero would kick in too.

get at him with a dig, corvettes aren't end of the world fast like misinformed owners think.
A guy with a '97 I work with wanted to know if my car was fast after hearing it, custom grind cam and bolt-ons, my roomate said race him..... I put at least 2 bus-lengths on him by 130 lol It was a bit of a dirty fight but fun none the less

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I think I might put on a ported throttle body and an underdrive pulley to give me a little more. he said he's goin to chip the car soon so it sounds like I'll need everything I can get.

most likely he has 2-3 hundred lbs on you, but you should have about 40rwhp on him and some good under the curve power along with better gears

He knows about cars, but he's more of any old school guy. He doesn't know much about the LS motors. He's the type to believe what he hears without doing his research. I'd love to shut him up lol
