But!!....But!!!.....All the internet mechanics said you can't make torque with LS3 castings!! But......But.......

Nice work gentleman. Torque is king. Horsepower is hypothetical.

Look at the under the curve gains!

So in this particular case are you saying the same heads, cam, and intake were used on the 370 as well as the LS1? If so I find that extremely impressive!! I'm running the same HCI combo on my 370 LQ9 that I had on my LS1 (with a little more compression and slightly bigger cam) and am looking forward to hitting the same dyno that I had my old LS1 setup on to see the exact difference. I'm hoping another 40-50 hp

No no no....lol

His old set-up was a 346 stock bottom end LS1. Ported 853 heads and a 224/232 113lsa cam IIRC.

We built him a forged 370 out of a iron truck block(LQ4) while re-using the stock crank. Forged rods&pistons along with a custom cam, CNC ported LS3 castings and a stock LS3 intake.

The headers were the same, the true duals were the same, rear end, rear gear, tires&wheels, and transmission were the same as the 346 LS1.

The stall converter and engine were the only things that changed and the gains as you can see that resulted from the engine change.

80rwhp/80rwtq SAE corrected gains for almost the entire operating range with heads that "can't make torque" or only make "peak dyno numbers" is damn impressive to me. While gaining only 24 cubic inches and in comparison to an engine that already had ported heads and a camshaft installed.

Okay this makes a lot more sense then. Thank you for clarifying that lol. Yes and I agree, even 80/80 across the board like that is still very impressive for the changes that were made

Thanks Jordan.

I feel it's pretty obvious that our dyno isn't a numbers dyno because it's honest with the correction factors it generates. Which is why I posted the uncorrected numbers. I should go back and try to dig up what the Temp, DA and Barometric pressure was that day as well.

Look at the original combination. 346 LS1, CNC ported 853 heads, 224/232 cam.

It made 385rwhp on our dyno.

I guess the cam guy who designed that cam should take a few pointers from Bozz Hawg as well. Most would consider a mid 220/230 cam and CNC ported heads to make 400rwhp+ pretty easily on a Dyno Jet.

Not on ours. Next thing you know it will be our tuning sucks.

I'm always impressed with the stuff you guys put out. It just works.

Not to take it too off topic but have you guys ever used AI's 280cc ls7 heads? Curious what your opinion is.

I have not at this point had any first hand experience with any of Advanced Inductions CNC ported LS7 castings.

I can say this though. If a set of cylinder heads is done by Advanced Induction, it is good stuff.

Damn that sucks that he sold the car. Martin what do you think something like this would get for gas mileage in a 6sp?
