Default 2006 M6 GTO - AI Heads/EPS Cam/FAST Intake

Don't mind the a/f on the last run. The cutouts were open and A/F sensor located in tail pipe. I'm pretty sure they didn't gain anything. Additional timing was added for the same pull so pretty sure the cutouts are just insanely good noise makers LoL.

Numbers are STD. SAE correction was very close to STD (9HP / 8 TQ). 54% humidity and 84 degrees in the shop at the time of the runs (for those who care too much about #'s).

11.3:1 Compression
8.47:1 DCR
AI 232cc Port Program on 243 casting heads
EPS .230 .238 113+2 cam
Self Ported FAST 102 intake
Nick Williams 102 Throttle Body
LS7 Lifters
BT Valve Springs and 7.375" Pushrods
Kooks 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" Stepped Headers
Magnaflow 2.5" Catback
Powerbond 25% Underdrive Crank Pulley
Svede Intake
Stock bottom end

Same dyno in summer (bolt ons only) netted me 385/385 STD and 375/375 SAE. In nearly exact same conditions.

Tune is still being tweaked so there may still be more to get out of it. Time will tell but I'm already way happy as it sits.

Tied the DMH Cutouts to my Homelink Mirror. (You know you like that James Bond **** )

Big thanks to a few local friends for helping with the wrench spinning and two others for the street and dyno tuning. This combo idles smooth (but still has a little chop) but lugging the car around in low RPM is a cake walk. I've never had a cam this small but in order to preserve the DD status, I opted for a softer lobe than I would normally pick and less duration and lift as well. Obviously it worked...rather well if you ask me. It pulls like a raped ape but nice and docile when just pissing around town hence the tag.

Thanks guys. It's a blast and wastes the tires rolling into 1st, 2nd and downshifting at around 65 into 3rd just turns it into a slip'n slide quick. Redline gets here mighty quick too lol. Idles with a noticeable thump but if you muted all of the noise, you would swear it feels just like driving a stock car until you stand in it. I obviously can't get over how awesome it drives.

Track numbers are next on my list...as is a few runs in Mexico when the situation arrises.

I had to sign up just to give you props on the power.

I'm doing a LQ9 engine build similar to this in my 300zx

AI 232cc Heads milled to 11.5:1 CR, dual springs, titanium retainers
Custom Cam 229/234 .6/.6 114 LSA
1 7/8" Longtubes
full 3" dual exhaust
lightweight 1 piece aluminum driveshaft
25% UD pulley (No A/C)
Dual timing chain set
ported FAST 102 Intake
102mm TB
Engine is at shop now getting a .020 overbore and hone, will replace everything new with APR bolts and studs everywhere.

My tuner said it should be pretty close or even a little over 500WHP....we'll see.

Are you running cats?

Nope, no cats.

That should be a stout *** combo! I don't see why it wouldn't make the numbers. If it doesn't, I suggest the same cam I have. It's awesome and the drivability is so nice after tuning. Plus, it makes a wee bit of power too.

That is badass, I have the same cam in my 5.7 but my heads are some lightly hand ported 799s. Do you know how much yours are milled?

And yes, this cam puts the old 230/224 reverse split cam I had to shame everywhere in the powerband. It feels like it picked up 50ft/lbs down low over the old combo. It drives amazing but then pulls hard as hell from anywhere in the powerband.

One of these days I need to go full port on the heads and get some 1 7/8" headers.

BTW I have 3" duals with dual cutouts about a foot off the collectors and the car consistently picks up right around a tenth at the track and a mph with them open. I wouldn't be surprised if the gain was from it rather than the timing.

Do you know what you're timing ended up at? I kept getting faster up until I hit 27.5*

OP, good job.

I wish I could find that post people were saying there is no absolute way you can make 500whp on a stock bottom end 6.0L without it driving like total garbage.....it was about 2 years ago I was reading that. I've seen people hit 500whp with the 6.0L stock bottom end with NO cutouts and AI heads and a nice mild cam...nothing outrageous either.

You got any acceleration or rolling vids? youtube channel?

Thanks man. Yeah, you were one of the reasons I leaned toward that cam. There were a few other people's threads with this cam and the two big things were: #1. It pulls hard through the RPM band. #2. It drives awesome.

Heads were milled to 63cc and gave me a 11.3:1 A/F ratio and around 8.47:1 DCR for reference.

Pretty sure the timing is around 26-27 at the highest. Pretty sure I need new injectors as well considering they're hitting around 97% duty cycle.

That's what got me on board. The combos make the numbers, drive great and rip at the track and on the street. I wanted something I could daily drive (and I do mean EVERY day and through SHIZIT traffic).

No Youtube channel or videos beyond what's already been posted. I'll have to make some when I get time. To be honest with you, I've only lit into it a hand full of times. Past that, I've been too damn busy to do anything with the car. I'll get a few and post them up though if all of the planets and moons align soon.
