From that article ls2 blocks come from GM with a 4.0007" bore.

That ain't 4".

Why do u think the factory piston i have out of ls2 will not fit an honed 4" bore ly6 block?? You think I'm so stupid I can't fit a round piston in a round hole?

Just because you posted a pic of a 4.005" piston does not mean that all of them are that size. And how do we even know that's a stock LS2 piston and not some aftermarket?

Now I'm lying??

I just posted proof the ls2's aren't 4" bore....

Go call Tony Mamo a liar.

Wtf do you consider 4" then? 4.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000"?

I just posted proof the ls2's aren't 4" bore....
You posted nothing of value. It's a picture of an unknown piston of 4.01" size not fitting in an unknown size bore. That means jack ****. Go troll somewhere else please.

Put your money where your mouth is,it's an ls2 factory piston.

U wanna see the GM part numbers dumb ***??

4.007 is a LONG way in any engine build.

If you don't believe me,next engine you have built(becuase we know u don't build your own),have em set the clearances up ..0013

The minimum clearance should only be .002 but let's see how much diff .0007 makes. You'll spin a bearing on under 500 miles.

Definitely ls2 pistons
gm part number 19178305

See how they have the same part number for all flat top 4 inch bore pistons

Bro you keep changing your story. Now it's 4.007? Earlier you posted 4.0007 from an article.

4.007 and 4.0007 is a huge difference in bore and piston size.

So is there a different part number for the ls2 piston vs the one I posted already?

I doubt it.

Ls2's were 2 years only and they sell no 100% specific ls2 parts and never have.

Can't tell if it's an ls2 piston or an lq9, or possibly even an l76....because they're all the same thing

Ls2 was from 2005 to 2009 in different gm vehicles
I'm sure they never made a replacement piston for the millions of ls2s in gm vehicles around the world

No,it's not....

Anyone care to put there money where there mouth is??

We can send this piston I have out of an 06 GTO to an engine builder and he can measure it.

I know plenty about lq9's,I only have one...

The real thing you should say is "way to spread disinformation on the Internet. Some idiot who doesn't know any better might believe you"

I agree with that for sure because you don't know WTF you're talking about. Every single official GM reference I've seen published indicates the LS2 bore is 4.000".

First, you educate everyone that the LS2 has a 4.005 bore.

Then you cite an article that indicates the LS2 comes from GM with a 4.0007" bore.

So, which is it? Does the LS2 have a bore of 4.005 or 4.0007? For the sake of discussion, let's say it's 4.005 since you used multiple exclamation points when making the statement. Wouldn't it be safe to say that a piston would have to be smaller than 4.005 if it's to fit in a 4.005 bore?

But what happens when you break out your caliper and measure it? Your caliper measures that piston at OVER 102mm. That is very likely a .020" oversized piston.

I think the following pic pretty much answers your second question.

No it's not, that's the angle I took the pic at.

Some1 want to put there money where there **** polisher is at?

I got $500 that says that's a factory ls2 piston not going in a 4" bore ly6 block.

I know the GTO the Pistons/rods came out of.....

Read the sig. When u can tell me from experience and not what you've read on the net,we'll talk.

And the rough ls2 blocks come from GM with a 4.0007" rough bore just like any block for a machinist to finish to spec.

4.0007" bore with a 4" piston would cause a ******* **** ton on piston slap and only the way a hack would put an engine together or a poor man.

Also, just FYI,before the battery on my micrometer died I measured the piston at 4.005" and a vendor here (Hinson Supercars) took out of a stock low mile GTO that had a stroker built.

Original owner car bought brand new....
