Default Well, finally got my car dynoed again...

and well needless to say I am disappointed I knew I wasn't going to make huge numbers with an automatci, but a whoping 332RWHP and 350RWTQ is pretty said for my mods. The one thing that might save me is my AF ratio was around 11.2 to 11.7 If I get it up to 13.2 what do you think I will be making?

maybe 5 hp. not much at all.. those are decent numbers considering your mods.. have those plus cam and intake and im only making 380 RWHP

stall conv. makes you lose HP and if you have bigger gears it will 2. but you will feel more power.. especially off the line..

He has a cam. I think they may be on the low side. Are you getting any knock retard with your setup? Do you have the LS6 intake? Can you post the graph so we can see what it looks like? Get that A/F leaned out and see what it does.

I am not getting any knock retard really. Don't have the LS6 intake yet. I am pretty sure there is more then 5HP in there. No way that set-up will only make 337RWHP.

Hmmm... weird dude. I would try to post that graph to show us what it looks like. I think you should be making more power, but who knows what that converter is doing, I am a M6 guy.

Yikes, those are low numbers for your mods. I'm having my FM4 cam installed this weekend - expecting 380+hp/tq. Tuning should add 5 - 10hp, but if I were you, I'd go to a different place to have that done. I problem could just be the dynojet at the shop you had it done.

Judge it by the MPH at the track.

I've seen stall'd cars read WAY lower than what their trap speeds indicate. Had a friend who dyno'd 30rwhp lower than my old Camaro (M6), but we ran neck and neck down the track.

your talking about an unlocked converter & ls1 intake there have been converters that sap 20-30hp when unlocked so its really hard to tell what it would make locked...maybe 350 maybe 370, besides that an ls6 intake would gain you anywhere from 10-20hp on the dyno. Get yourself the intake, a TB & have them lock the converter on the dyno and the dynoqueen in you will come out.

ps dont be hung up on dyno #'s with an a4 they are pretty much usless.

What makes you think his converter was unlocked? those tq number are really bad for a unlocked converter with a decent stall. Just think if he was unlocked and then locked in now he would make 15 more hp and say atleast 25+ less tq

Hp is Hp and the more you make the faster you will go assuming the car is setup to use all the hp. My friend dyno`s 316 hp unlcked and ran 11.5 in his setup car. Are you telling me if he made 360 on the dyno he wouldnt be going low 11`s ? Dyno numbers are always usefull to help setup your car.

Looks like the converter was locked, but were the numbers SAE corrected? If the weather was hot, the numbers would show it uncorrected and dyno low. Also that's a rich a/f ratio, you should pick up at least 20 hp with a ls intake and tuning.

from what ive seen in auto's and a 346ci motor if your unlocked youll show more tq then hp which is the case here. As far as your 15/25 thing goes whats your point? I kinow thats what would happen and thats what i was trying to explain...ive heard of of some converters sapping 30hp so its really hard to tell, autos arent to be made dyno queens that was the point of my thread not to argue #'s

Thanks for the inputs. I will try and post the dyno sheets here soon for you all to see. Also, it is shifting at 6300, I am going to move it to 6600.

My point was those numbers seem very low even for a auto . Most 2800 converters wont sap 30 hp but ofcourse that is possible if it really inefficent. It is usually the 4000+ converters that do that. I dont know what all this dyno queen talk is about but you should make atleast a decent number. When I do mods to my car I like to see what gains I see on the dyno. I dont just say dyno numbers mean nothing when I dont make power. I find out whats going on and fix it or change the product that didnt supply the hp.

With an LS6 intake and tuning you should pick up another 15RWHP at least.
Numbers aren't too bad especially if the converter is inefficient
