Congrats Jake!
Outstanding results, so 13" from the GZ Sportsman Pump.
What did they recommend as a max for DD without
squirters or coated wrist pins?
Just curious as I have heard 10-12", but conservative
Tony suggests 8-10". LOL

I don’t think those gains are just from a VP. I think he made a couple small changes

I really think the reason it gained more than typical is my ring seal is very bad and the pump helped seal it. Or else if it was tighter, 550 might be doable with 12:1. But then you're into different stuff altogether.

Congrats! You're making me want to go ahead and get my setup done!
Do you feel the difference in power and does it seem to rev/accelerate quicker with the vacuum pump?
I wonder what a shortblock with a lightweight crank and rods would do if anything?

Thanks guys! Yeah I feel it more as throttle response than anything. When I upshifts, if I hit in the meat of the torque, it's crazy. A light weight crank and rods would rip even crazier. But then it wouldn't be stock short block, which I was trying to preserve.

You mentioned bad ring seal, its attendant oil consumption, etc., and how the vac. pump helped with that. Had the ring seal been very good, would the pump still be a help?

Most of the strokers I've seen pull that kind of power are way higher on torque. That's pretty much the difference. Like if I dropped a 383 under it, I think power would be the same but with 480-490 torque vs 440. In general, I rather the bore be bigger than the stroke. That's really only gut feel more than anything I can point to scientifically.
