Default Ls6 intakes vs other

Hello, I know there is a lot of talk about this but I'm curious about intake manifolds wise, is it really worth the money going with a 102 or 92mm fast intake set up. I've always had my eyes on the FAST intakes and want one, Currently I have a ls6 intake with stock TB. I was curious is it possible to port a ls6 intake to TSPs 225cc heads? As well as would I benefit from it more likley power per dollar ratio going with a port job (if it's possible) and then run with a bigger TB and MAF sensor, air box, etc. Current set up.
TSP 225cc heads
Torquer V4 cam
Longtubes, etc.
Stock injectors running 98% duty cycle rate. :/

You might want to sell the ls6 intake complete to absorb the sticker shock of the Fast and ls2 and up fuel rails and 4 bolt Tb. The ls6 setup is still worth some coin.

How much do they usually go for? I heard going with a ls2 TB because the diameter is 90mm? I guess is this true?

Yep all the four bolt Tb's will fit on a 102 intake but you have a cable. I didn't think GM made a 90 with cable. There's lots of aftermarket cable 90 92 and 102's out there though. Might be one in the for sale section or will be soon I'm sure. I found a 92 for my ls3 intake here. $275, hardly used and with the big Fast box. NW's are the best though. That was a while back when tb's were more expensive then now. A realy good deal would be a used
fast 92 intake and tb. They show up as well and there just about as good for cheep like $600 or so for the intake.

that's true, I never thought about the DBW setups, I wish I could find a FAST intake for less than 500 bucks lol. Can't find anything close to that lol. How do you like your 102 setup?

I'm running a gm ls3 intake. its a very good intake but 92mm max Tb. I did just get a new 102 though. I'll use the 92tb on it for now.

OP, with your mods on a stock cube LS1, I've personally have only seen gains of around 10-15 hp with the Fast intake. Having it ported might get you another 5 hp or so. I know others will disagree, but this has been my experience

so with that, is it possible to port the ls6 intake? And so would you think going with a bigger TB would that help with the ls6 intake? I feel like the intake would have that choke point at the entrance.

Yes it's possible, but generally not with the money it costs. At that point you'd be better off selling your LS6 and TB (i got $400 for mine) and buying a used Fast with TB for around maybe $800 or so. There's a company that sells a modified 90mm nose with the LS6 intake for like around $800 or something, but again not worth the cost when you compare the cost difference of selling yours and buying a used Fast setup. Basically what I reccommend is just keep your setup, and maybe get your TB ported (Like $75 bucks from a reputable source) or just sell it and get a used Fast

that's what I figured, so looking at the prices, it's the same price for the fast intakes between the 92mm and 102mm so would it be worth extra 10mm? Practically for the same price? And another thing where do the sensors hook up too on the FAST intakes?

Other than the different bolts for the intake and throttle body the Fast 92 is a direct replacement. With the 102 you will need different fuel rails, so it ends up being more money. On a setup like yours the 102 might be worth like another 5 hp over the 92.

I've heard going with a 92mm and then getting it ported is probably one of the best setups you can do. Which I feel like if I'm gonna spend the money minus well get the best bang for the buck if I could. My other issue is injectors. Do stock injectors plug into the FAST intakes? Or does it have to be FAST injectors, I'm needing bigger injectors because I'm at 98% duty cycle rate. I can't give it anymore fuel even if I wanted.

Well the 102 will give a few more horsepower stock or ported, but the 92 is nice since it uses the stock fuel rails. Stock injectors work fine on the 92, but on the 102 I believe you need an adapter for them to work.
