SLP 402, AFR 205, TSP MS3, Rapid Tuning
508.7 rwhp, 489 rwt
AFRs were cut .035 for 11.6
Mods include Edelbrock stepped longtubes, ORY, Fast 90 intake and TB, SLP MAF, SLP lid, 4.10 gear, SVO 30#
This thing smokes like crazy. I hope it is unseated rings and that it'll go away, but I'm very concerned.
I'll see if Mikey can post the graph.

Smoking is not good, but the #'s are good. What timing are you running and what octane fuel? My car was dyno'd with very little miles on it and it has never smoked. What color is the smoke?

Hello all,
I would hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if I see ANY more than a little puff right at initial fire up, there is grounds for concern. Every engine that I have seen anyone purchase that smokes more than that hardly ever "seals up", but try to look for any indicators of blowby like exessive pressure in the crankcase and the like and if there is, do a leakdown to check the ring seal, if the leakdown gauge reads more 10% try to get your money back! The thing is once the engine has been dynoed, it is for all common purposes broke in. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR MISSION.

great numbers.. good luck on finding the smoking problems.. its most likely the rings.. on a fresh motor i can't say i'm suprised.. call SLP and see what they say.. see if they'll warranty it if it has bad compression (good luck)

40 miles is no where near sufficient break in time IMO. You should have put at least 200-350 miles on the motor before revving it high on the dyno. Nothing has seated in that motor in only 40 miles.
