We've had people here try 11.0:1 on LS1s and they detonated. Again, a lot of it will depend on the size of the cam you run, but even on big cams, our general rule of thumb is that LS1s can't safely run more than about 10.8:1 compression.

I missed al the fun. I did 409HP 386TQ with a G5X2 cam only LS1 with 3,42's and I believe 397HP 368TQ with 4.11's, both on a 24 degee Nic tune.
Had basicly all bolt-ons and full over the axle duals with XR1's.
So the new motor starts being put together on Monday, and will be putting down some very strong NA numbers and Verbs will have some competition for stock cubes. But my car probably weighs 700 lbs more than his, and I've got him by a buck and a half.
Have a G5X3 114 going in, but rethinking the X4.
