Default New Race-Prep engine package developed & Dyno tested!

Well, we finally got the new 418ci engine on the dyno Friday. The thing ran real well! We used the Fast intake with the 90mm throttle body and our own custom grind cam on a 108LSA with over .650" lift but still retained the hydraulic lifters so this is a true street worthy engine. As for the heads they are our own developed 6.0L castings flowing over 330cfm from a small 218cc runner. The compression is 13:1 which is a little high for CA fuel but you guys with 93 might be able to make it work or just a splash of race gas and your good to go. This engine made huge torque across the board, at 3700 it has over 500LBFT of torque and peaks at 585 torque! The horsepower is no slouch either as it produced 630 hp and remember this is a budget built engine using the cast iron block! We are very happy with the numbers and are anxious to see how it does on the track, the area under the curve of this engine is HUGE so it should do real well!
Thanks for reading!

These are Engine dyno figures so about 45-50 or so lost to a six speed at the wheels. Either way the torque is still great!

-Nine finger, Yes, we are doing our own tuning here now and actually came across an excellent tuner who I have seen no equal thus far so he is very good, if the car has it in it, he can get it out of it!! Feel free to give us a call or if I don't hear from you I will get in touch with you.

More like 100 to the wheels lost. Numbers are still good for what would be a fairly cheap build. Congrats.

Actually the manuals don't loose that much they are in the 50 range. I have seen back to back tests. The autos however are much higher, more like 80-100 with a loose converter.

The engine consists of fairly normal pieces, the bore is 4.030", the stroke is 4.100" and the rod is a 6.125". Basically an Eagle crank, Scat rods, Wiseco Pistons and Clevite H-series bearings. The trick stuff is in the heads and cam combo and all the little tricks in the shortblock, every little bit adds up.

13:1 compression needs just a splash of race gas...

Great numbers!

I heard that they had some problems with the Eagle 4.10 crank!

I had ordered it for my set up and now I have had to change to a Callies 4.125 and 6.200 rods.

Did you here anything about this?

I'm hoping to get 85% of your results with my 415 LS2.

Again great numbers!

Bryan, nice work, I've always sworn by your heads. Why go with such a small runner on a good sized motor?

MIDRANGE TORQUE!!
LOL...
500+LBFT at 3500 RPM and 585 peak will get you moving very quickly, especially in a manual trans where you don't have that converter to multiply torque.

By the way how is the Camaro running these days?

The Eagle cranks are fine but they won't release them to the public because average pistons won't clear the reluctor wheel and most guys I have a feeling don't mock assemble their engines and they have had problems...Good thing we do mock 'em all up!

Bryan, the Camaro's running great, even with these three year old Race-Prep heads. I'm just waiting to spray too much and blow up this 6.0L block so I can replace it with a big RP motor.

Well, you know where to find us! We would be happy to make that thing destroy all who oppose!! (LOL). Keep in mind we are doing our own dyno testing and VCM tuning as well.
