346 v 383 comparo

Default 346 v 383 comparo

I just bought a Vette with a 383 and when I had my WS.6 tuned, I had them overlay my 346 graph with the 383 for S&G's

The red line is my current dyno 460/419 346ci

The heavy dark line is the 383 with patriot LS6 style heads with 59cc chambers and 2.055/1.57 valves and they reportedly flowed 309 @ .600. Cam, 232/236 575/578 114, TPIS headers, stock LS6 manifold, no ported TB and no pulley. 453/434


The thin black line is the same 383 with the addition of TEA ported AFRs 225cc runners that flow 315@ .600 on a 3.9 bore. 64cc chamber. LSX 90, NW TB and Kooks 1-7/8s headers. 488/475.

Too bad the numbers from our heads were with different mods than the other heads. Would be interesting to see an apples to apples comparison, where only the heads were involved. Congrats on the numbers!!

Nice numbers, interesting that you gained that much power with less compression. Just to clarify, the heads were ported from bare AFR castings and had our 225cc program with a 3.90 bore chamber.

.600 flow numbers are pretty important when your cam lifts .575

This wasn't meant as an apples to apples comparo, just for fun. The friend that I bought the ZO from thought the compression was to high for road racing with the Patriots.

Again, this was just for fun. I didn't have the full flow numbers for the Patriots, just the .600 #. Here are the flow #'s for the TEA/AFR's.....
