Default NEW TSP 233/239 R2 & PRC Stage 2.5 Results!!!

We dynoed a customers 233/239 R2 cam'd car with PRC heads last week so I thought I would post the graph for everyone. The car had a 12.8-12.9 af ratio to begin with from the mail order tune we sent him so needless to say the car didn't take much time on the dyno! The car is a 99 a4 car with a 3500 stall unlocked, headers, y pipe, cutout, ls6 intake, pulley & lid.

Not bad for a package that sells for $1999!!

The Camshaft is a 233/239 Revision 2 on a 113
The cylinder heads are Precision Race Components Stage 2.5 Heads
with 2.04 intake, 1.575 exhaust valves! The cylinder heads come fully assembled for 1529 with a PRC spring kit good to .660 lift
The heads buy themselves sell for $1529 & are built off BRAND NEW GM CORES! (not factory rejects)

Enjoy

This new 233/239 camshaft uses completely redesigned lobes compared to the original camshaft. The new lobes are XER based & have made better torque & pretty similar hp We've had several cam only 233/239 R2 cars go over 410rwhp with 390+ tq

can you post the .006 and .200 of the old lobe vs the new one. was the v.1 more like an XE lobe?

I bought a TSP 233/239 in December. I assume this is the old version?

I never got a real cam card with it. Can you please post detailed specs on V1 and V2 of this particular cam?

I don't like the way the torque just falls off like that..... Should be dynoing my car shortly with this cam, milled .024" AFR 205's, 30#ers, LS6 intake, ported TB, long tubes, true dual 3", pulley, cold air setup. Hoping for 450rwhp and a relatively flat torque curve from 4,000-6,000rpm+.

How much piston to valve clearance is there with the 2.04 valves? Is the cam the same lift as the previous 233/239? Sorry for all the questions.....

I bought this cam off of the Parts For Sale section of this site, it is truely awesome cam, Not sure what version i have, the cam card didn't say, but i'm betting it's V1. it's 233/239 .603/.600 112+2. on an 01 WS6, 6 speed car, Hooker Long tubes, 3" dual exhaust, X-pipe, stock heads, intake, ported TB, stock screened MAF, MTI lid, Molly DS, and 12 bolt, i put 433hp/402 tq to the wheels. I took the liberty of cutting out the name of the place where it was done as not to upset any of the sponsors. but i can VERY highly reccomend this cam! I've gone 11.9X consistantly @ 116.xx and i'm about 300 rpm shy of crossing the line in 3rd gear, i'm running 3.73's right now from my old setup, but will be switchin to 4.30's shortly.

Don't want to upset anyone, I know how touchy everyone is to question a sponsor , but this is a traditional split cam, it benifits highly from exhaust movement. a large intake and tiny exhaust isn't going to help this cam, i'd bias my valves towards the exhaust, i'm going to try a set of "stage I" 5.3's with a stock 2.00 intake and cut the exhaust to 1.8. i think that'd help this cam more than a large intake valve. It seems that you'd loose too much to pumping losses, i've seen this cam done in several cars, and everytime the more open the exhaust is (my car for ex.) the higher the numbers, on a stock manifold/Intermediat pipe and hooker muffler i've seen this car throw down as little as 350 at the wheels, that same car, two days later, with long tubes and off road Y pipe put down 390 at the wheels.
