Default # on F13 - 112 +4 with Fast 90/90 LS2 TB

Hi all

Here are my results, if anyone cares. My car is a 2002 Z06.

First what I had before the cam. I had the LG headers with no cats, Haltech Fresh air intake (the one that sits behind the license plate) and edit done by Mike Norris in orlando. With that the car made 380hp and 369tq.

Then last weekend I added the F13 cam on a 112 +4, ASP Pulley and Fast 90 with a LS2 TB. I also did a spec 2 clutch with lightened flywheel. I put cats back on the car. The car was again tuned at Mike Norris shop. The car pulled 417hp and 394tq.

My excuses. According to some, Mikes Dyno is not to giving. Also, Orlando has been really hot and humid, I really dont know how good the dyno really corrects for this?

My worries. After reading some of the post about the cam I am really shocked how hard it lopes. I was hoping for a little less lope. I should have got it on a 114.

How it drives. Drives a lot better then I thought it was. I can still put it in 6th going 65. In fact it drives really close to stock.

My hopes. I ran 11.80 at 120 on stock street tires in Orlando in the winter. I am hoping for 11.60 at 123 with the extra HP, if I can hook.

The graph. Hope this works

Thanks
Bud

who cares about numbers! How's that sucka feel now? big difference? The weather sucks now so don't be suprised at the track when your numbers aren't there either but don't be discouraged. Get some m/t drag radials and go get a LOW 11.

I want a z06

At full throttle the car feels great. It feels stronger in this heat then in the winter months.

I drove it around a little more today and the car was doing some light surging during cruising. I hope Mike Norris can clear that up.

Thanks
Bud

No need for excuses, those are good #'s and I bet your low end TQ is killer.

The 112+4 is probably hurting you by about 10 HP up top, so if you want a better dyno # then back the cam off 2-3 degrees. However if you want a TQ monster it's good the way it is.

surging is from your cam, he may be able to clear it up some but not all the way. did he drill a hole in your throttle body?

I dont think he put a hole in the TB.

It might have to do with the LS2 TB, Mike said it was his first one.

Thanks
Bud

I'd like to know how the LS2 tb turned out for you too. I did one about two weeks ago on a H/C Z06 and I had alot of trouble getting it to idle correctly.

It is SAE.

It idles OK but I can tell it doesnt keep a solid idle. On hot starts it wants to die on me. I am hoping Mike Norris could clean this up for me.

Driving around the TB feels pretty stock.

Thanks
Bud

See my above post on idle.

What did you end up doing? Did you end up getting it to idle correctly?

Thanks
Bud

I have the running air flow jacked up on it pretty high to keep it from dying, but the idle hangs on it around 1500rpm sometimes until you come to a complete stop. It doesn't do it all the time, just every once in a while. I'm thinking about swapping the TB out for a new one, there may be something wrong with the one I have.

Mine doesnt do that. Over all it idles pretty good but I bet with a little more fine tunning it would idle perfect.

Thanks
Bud

I have the same cam on my vette with some ported LS6 heads. I'm running an LS6 intake, stock ported TB, and I had a z06 exhaust on my car. I would not call the idle characteristics loping hard by any means, it had a slight lope to it but that's it.

So what I'm saying is I doubt it's your cam. I'd look to the TB like you originally were doing.

Look at the timing at idle, is it really low low 10-13 degrees?

Does your car shake at idle with your F13?

I do agree I think some of the problem could be the Fast,TB combo.

I did end up taking it back to Mike Norris and he did clean up the idle quit a bit.

i am having the same issues with my f13. I have the 112+4 also and it beats the ground pretty damn hard. i have duals though. the car dies on me alot and is a bitch to get it to stay running sometimes..... but once it does it is fine and it drives great. i think it could use some more tuning , oh my total timing is set at 24 degrees.

Damn great numbers My car hit 424.7 RWHP 397 RWTQ As far as NLP Dyno numbers they are on the money ! I had Mike Dyno tune my car last year then went to a local Dyno McDonald Motorsports in Stuart a week later to see how close they were and they were within 1 RWHP Plus a buddy of mine had is car tuned @ FMS then went to McDonald and his was within 1 RWHP as well so FMS, NLP, and McDonald are all on the money together Hopefully once my 90/90 goes on it will make a few more poneys
