Default Dynoed my car today took a 02 sensor out to get the A/F ratio did that hurt the HP #s

Took one 02 sensor out and threaded one from the dyno computer in to get the A/F ratio I am thinking my numbers where maybe effected because of it. Am I off here? In WOT is the car bypassing the 02s anyway?

I got maybe one decent run in, I had one base pull and then on the second the crank senosor (we think) went out. Had a hell of a time getting it home lucky I had my mechanic with me who knew some limp home tricks. (pulling tps sensor)

I had 378 with 345TQ on my base pull. No graphs, I have to go back when I figure out if it is the crank sensor or not.

Was it a front o2 sensor or a rear o2 sensor?

Just the one in the driver side header. I think they would be the rears, the fronts are tuned out. Can't remember if the wire extensions where for the fronts or the rears off hand.

Yes that is probably correct been so long since I did the header install I don't recall.....(hehe)

Also found out to day that my timing tuner wires going to the sensor where fried and burnt against the block. So back to the dyno next week hopfully for some better #'s.

Not taking the sensors off this time.

It shouldnt matter becaue under WOT conditions the PCM goes to open loop and reads from the maf sensor instead of the O2's.

If it was in the header collector, most likely that is a front. Yes this would throw things off because the car reads information from the o2 sensor for fueling, etc. I would never take out a front o2 sensor.

Yes I kinda thought that as I was taking the sensor out and installing the computers 02. I will not do that again. Just figured the dyno guy should know what he is doing?

I hope this does explain my low numbers. I seen a guy on here where his one side 02 was bad and it cut him allot of HP just because it was bad. Plus that harness probably didn't help things also all melted to the block.

I will check it out when I go back to finish my pulls next week or the next.

Thanks for the info..........!

That's not true, it doesn't throw things off. It puts the car in open loop which happens every time you go wide open throttle anyway. I wouldn't drive around on the street like that everyday because the fuel trims would never update. But at wide open throttle it doesn't matter.

Dude if your timing tuner got fried than your crank sensor is now fried. It splices in between. Problem solved

The TT harness wiring was melted to the block. Plugged the stock plug into the Crank sensor and now it runs better than before feels a bit stronger. I think it had been like that for awhile just took a bit of extra block heat on the dyno for it to melt the insulation on the wire and caused the PCM to loose the crank signal.

I HOPE the timing Tuner is ok yet. I know it was looking for a crank signal at one point because I seen the flashing LEDs on in the tuner box, just didn't click until I got home that night and read the install guide and remembered that meant it couldn't find the crank signal.

Will findout later if I can get a new harness someplace.
