When you pull the headers off, you'll need to modify the passenger side collector flange to 2.375" Dia. (that's the max you can go without hitting the ID of the collector pipe). Just make it the same size as the drivers side flange (2.375" Dia.). I used a Dremel with a carbide tip (#9903) and a cutting guide.

Nice numbers. Do you know how much of a gain that is over your manifolds?

So the JBA's and BBK's both come with the same problem? I wonder why they sell them this way? At what >$800 for the ceramic JBA's you'd think you wouldn't have to take a dremel to them.

What about the new 1 3/4 BBK's? Has anyone given these any thought? I would think you might gain a couple more hp over the JBA's. I've been tempted the get these, but I keep going back and forth trying to decide whether or not I want to spend my money on shorties.

Redneck Z,

The JBA / BBK's are designed to mate up with the stock Y-Pipe which has a smaller ID on the passenger side. It's just a good idea to open up the flange if you're adding an aftermarket Y-Pipe such as the RT Y-Pipe which has a 2.5" ID. If you are using the stock y-pipe don't even bother with the flange mod.

JS,

I'm not sure what the GTO flange(s) looks like. It may not even be an issue. What you want to do is match the collector flange opening to the y-pipe opening. Check the driver and passenger side in your case.

Wow $175, how can you go wrong? If I found a deal like that, I'd get them in a heart beat. Were they the ceramic, titanium or chrome/nickel ones?

Patrick G,

I'm guessing I picked up somewhere around 15-20HP with the JBA's and RT Y-pipe.
I dynoed 311 rwhp before the Headers, Y-pipe, LS6 Intake and ported TB. I'm sure I'll get flamed for the HP claims but I don't care!!!

RedneckZ,

They are ceramic. They did, however, have a few pinholes around one of the welds but I took them down to JBA in SD and they covered them under warranty.

Nice numbers... it looks like you lost some power up until about 4 grand though. I don't know why that would happen.

I only did 323whp with JBAs, Lid, and Magnaflow.. I didnt have the Random Tech Y pipe and cats.. though I cant imagine then gaining another 20whp

The #'s in this thread are what people often get with LT's.. who knows.. maybe he's got a freak..
