Default "Stealth" 382 with PRC stock valved #241's

I know this is a pretty "oddball combo" but it turned out really nice. This is 01Hawk from the board's car. It is a 2001 10th anniversary firehawk. We did a Lunati 382 rotating assembly, with a very mild cam.. it's a Comp X-er 230/232 114lsa. That sucker idles so smooth thru the closed off borla! Besides the rotating assembly the car has a stock LS6 intake, a STOCK throttle body, NO underdrive pulley, Grot long tubes, running thru a full block off plate borla (no cutout). Now the story on the heads.. he wanted to run stock heads on it since his plan it to spray it pretty heavily on down the road and wanted to spend that money on a fuel system. Well, I had a set of 241's that I had sent out to Jason @ TSP to have PRC port them and reuse the stock valves that I was going to stick on my wife's car. I sold them to 01Hawk really cheap and below is what the combo did dyno'd thru the full exhaust.

Now for the BEST part, the drivetrain!! The car has a Moser 9 inch with 35 spline axles, Denny's Nitrous Ready Steel drive shaft.. and get this... 4.56 gears Geezz.. this thing will blow away street tires in 3rd gear without a problem! First graph is his dyno run from today, the second graph is his car vs my car with the mods I have in the Sig for comparison. Can't wait to spray this smooth idling thing in a couple of weeks.

If I was going to spend the money and the time... there is no way I'd do a 382 over a 402/408. I have a couple that I've completed that will be dyno'd in the next few weeks.. after driving them, they make a 382 seem very weak.

The 4.030 bore on a 408 REALLY helps the power. If someone could come up with a good knock sensor fix for the LS2 aluminum blocks, that would be the sure ticket. I went ahead and did the iron block on my car, heck that extra 70lbs or so will never be noticed

And that right there is why I have not already...

The iron block is starting to look really good...

I think I have him convinced to stick one of yours on there and some of the other lacking bolt ons so that he can get 450 pretty easily thru that power robbing drive train. Our goal is 650rwhp on the gas.. I don't see a problem getting that.

Nice #s, especially considering the drivetrain and lack of a ported TB. I bet the extra tq is alot of fun on the street compared to a 346ci.

We ran a 1/8 in it last night at 80s degrees and slick track on drag radials. It went 7.65, just couldn't get any traction.

Teddy needs to practice launching That thing is a bitch to hook up on radials with all that torque and 4.56 gears.
I ran a 7.38 on 17inch BFG drag radials in it before I tuned it

94.24*F, 29.37 in-Hg, and 22% humidity. That's what the run condidtions were listed as... even thought I could have swore it was 100* down there Saturday

The 114lsa and X-er lobes help it alot. Also running it thru a borla with a full blockoff plate makes it real quiet.

Nice job Gomer. Probably don't need all that gear with the torque the car is making. I had the same rear and gears in my old Z/28, and it killed the tires on the street through third gear. Congrats.

This is close to a question I was asking. I'm wondering what type of power I'm looking at by just increasing my stroke to 4" and leaving the cam and heads the same.
Here's my current dyno graph... (IN BLUE)

youll need better flowing heads to make it worth your while,or go FI when you do it to take advantage of the increased stroke.for ex,i was told that with the 383 at 9:1 CR at 10#s ill see somewhere in the neighborhood of 650rwhp....making good use of the displacement.

Default Wish

I wish i had 650rwhp. I have thought about going with a different set of heads though. If my brother ever takes his off of his truck may buy them and add a little gas. Hope to get 550rwhp with that setup if i go that way.
