cant break 350 hp

Default cant break 350 hp

I have a 99 T/A M-6, I had a stealth II cam put in along with UD pulleys in may, still ran stock tuning, did a best of 348hp 338tq really bummed me out, I was running a HPP3 at the time, without the powertuning, just raised the limiter to 6600 and used other features of course, so I go back last week after buying the crane/vinci tuner and instaling maf ends, ran again on the dyno did a best of 349hp and 338tq, was real pissed after spending 400 bucks for 2 hp. my af was dead on, made some timing and af adjustments while doing the pulls, even maxing my timing with the tuner still 349, so now is something pulling my timing?

99 T/A M-6
ported TB, lid, FTRA, pulleys stealth II cam
hooker shortys, random tech catted Y, borla catback
BMR track pac, 4:11's

i can list all ur errors:

shortys<---- massive power
cats
no cut out<---- again with them cats, some power
no real tune
4.10's(not an error, but kills off dyno numbers)
no ls6 intake

No matter what handheld tuner you get, it will NOT compare to a full dynotune with wideband and o2 readings. Edit, or HPtuners is what you need.
Get a set of LTs, and a ls6 intake too. Your power will jump then.

I'd say your power is doing pretty good givne your current mods, but definatly some longtubes and an ORY, i dont know if your in oklahoma because of your user name, but if so dont worry about the emissions crap, and then get it dyno tuned, you could have saved that 400 buck and had a dynotune and be alot closer to 370 at least

going from 3.23 to 4.10 gave me a 13/24 loss on the dyno with my 00 formula

i just tuned the wife's 99 formula with the VHP tuner over at macedo yesterday. the stock tune showed about 13-13.5 a/f. put in the hiperf stock cam. leaned it to almost 15:1. then added +10% fuel enrichment and brought it back to 13-13.5:1. gain of 10 rwhp. the hiperf/stock cam is made for basically stock vehicles. the wife's car just isn't except for cam. what programs did you try?

Dunno what to tell you. I'm producing more power w/ a less aggressive cam. HPP3 is a sucky *** tune. I'm sure you can find a dyno shop nearby that uses HP Tuners. I have the HP Tuners setup on my vehicle, as set up by Race Prep. You'd probably see over 360whp w/ a dyno tune alone.

hrmm try that, add a little fuel and see what happens, or I'm sure you could give Vinci a call and see whats up. Oh and Maf ends have been known to cause some problems actually.

I gained 53rwhp just by adding ls6 intake headers and true duals. If I was you id get a good tune, get rid of the cats, get a cutout and a ls6 intake and im shure you would be close to 400rwhp

your car isnt breathing worth crap, in or out. drop the shorties and get longtubes. drop the cats, get a cutout, and forget about handheld tuners, they are junk. get hptuners, or something equivalent.

really would like to see your dyno graph. here's mine from just playing around on the dyno.

dyno 11 run on stock tune. a/f ratio pretty good.
dyno 13 hiperf/stock cam tune remember this tune is made for a bascially stock motor. which her car isn't.
dyno 14 added +10% power enrichment brought a/f back inline.

i stopped there as i was only wanting to disable torque management. i was there doing some nitrous tuning.

not bad for a fake tune.

i concur with the headers and off road y or x pipe, I made 343 345 with just long tubes, lid and off road x. If I were you id be trying to return that crap you just bought and invest that money in some better mods. Good luck, you'll get there
