Default Dynoed for first time, 98 SS

I have a 98 M6 SS and I think I dynoed kind of low. The only mods I have are a hooker catback and an SLP lid. I only dynoed 285/307. The only reason I can think of is that my clutch is pretty bad. Could this actually show a big loss? If so, how much do you guys think?

Your numbers do seem pretty low for an M6. If your clutch is slipping it can definitely affect your dyno numbers. What kind of dyno was it?

Hmmm....you have a 98, so it's going to dyno a LITTLE bit on the lower side just cause you don't have the stuff that an 01-02 does but that number does seem a little too low. The clutch could have something to do with it....how many miles on ithe car? Was it beat to ****? Maybe the compression sucks...maybe the dyno is one that is just a little bit less generous than others. Mod away my friend and the numbers will come up

108k miles, but mainly driven on long distance business trips. I really don't think the previous owner beat on it at all

What are other people dynoing there? Is it known to be a higher reading dyno, lower, average? Look into that first, and go from there.

It's a new dyno so doesn't really have a reputation yet. A couple people that were there said they were about consistent and a couple other people said they thought it was lower than it should be

don't know why the a/f one is so small but the red graph line above the a/f reading is 13

My 99SS only put down 296 with a lid. The car did have 117k miles. I thought the numbers were extremely low.

My 1998 SS dynoed 316/330 on a dynojet with lid and cutout. I would have to agree that your numbers are low, but like everyone else says, mod away.

My 98 SS went 307/321 with a lid and Magnaflow catback.

Break out the wallet and start modding!

How old are the plugs? How bad is you PCV system?

Change your plugs, do a top end clean, clean your MAF, TB and do one of the many PCV mods.

Don't look at it as a low number....just a starting point or a "base line". Make note of your fluids temps, and rear tire air pressure...keep them consistent when you dyno again.

fo real man, start doing some mods, get a real tune, you'll be in the low 300's easily. I have an 02 a4 and dyno'd 317hp 315tq with a lid, exhaust, and G-maf. Took the maf off and got it tuned, put down 325hp and 335tq. This is using the 8% conversion from mustang to dynojet.
