Would changing rod bolts kick you out of this contest? ( I havent done it yet but would like to) I might just follow The Term's set-up (Timing and 200 shot)

well i think rob changed rod bolts, not 100% but at least 99. and he didnt rev the motor too high if i remeber correctly. just tons of boost low then let out of it. not too sure if he went past like 5700rpm. and that was also done with a stock cam

Yes Rob had some really nice cars.Im not saying it didnt happen I just dont know how the stock motor could ever hold that much power.i raelly dont know how that turbo kit could evan have made that much power on 15psi like he was running.

i dont know either, he did it though. he had the the paper work to prove it and i saw the car run, and he isnt the greatest driver in the world, no offence to rob, he ran like a 10.0 something. he had the biggest problems getting out of the hole.

I don't think Robo ever hit 850 rwhp. I know he was in the 7xx range with meth/alky injection.

just a message i recieved to clarify my statements earlier

"1. It was a completely stock engine with 128k miles on it.
2. At a little over 600rwhp, the stock valvesprings wouldn't let the car rev much over 5000, so we changed to a set of Comp 921's and hardened pushrods. Other than that, the engine was 100% stock down to the ls1 intake and stock unported TB, and yes, stock rod bolts.
3. At that point, it made 792rwhp and I believe right at 950rwtq (not 100% certain on tq)
4. The car was full weight with the addition of a roll bar and 12 bolt rear end.
5. The trans was pretty worn out, and we were using a Spec Stg 5 clutch at the time. Which is why the easy launch and "granny shifting". (don't worry, I wasn't offended by your statement about my driving ) It still managed a 10.01 @ 137.xx with a 1.65 60ft, in 100 degree weather.
6. The head gasket eventually went, but the engine itself never missed a beat. The shortblock was still in perfect running condition when we took it out."

not starting wars but like i said i saw the car run. just sticking up for us turbo guys,

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!! I'd be on the verge of a coronary worrying about a piston grenading through the roof or passenger compartment

I'm gonna be shooting for somewhere between 620 and 650 rwhp with similar torque when I dyno next week

My bottom end is a completely stock LS1. Heads, Cam, Pushrods, Valvetrain, oil pump, injectors, and fuel pump (plus those in my sig and a few other bolt-ons) have all been upgraded.

Crank, rods, pistons, bearings, rod-bolts, etc. are all stock

Exclamation Oops!

I spoke to Anthony Peck recently about my post here, and realized that I did in fact state the 1/4 mile time incorrectly. It only went a low 11 with the stock engine and rear end (I believe it went like an 11.18?). I did correctly state the mph of 137 though, as well as the correct dyno numbers.

My old silver Z did go 10.8x with stock engine and turbo kit. But I believe Mike Brown holds the record for the fastest/quickest with stock engine. Speaking of, I just got my new GMHTP and saw the write-ups on Mike Brown & Tom Kempf. Congrats to both you guys!

I know it's been a while, but I just wanted to clear that up.

p.s. Haven't been around in a while....do I still need a flamesuit?
