Is the comp valve job new? I don't recall seeing it when I purchased my heads. Don't you guys even lap the valves? Mine definately we're not.

I just bought the $899's last week with a gasket kit so the price went over 1g, so these are better for cheaper? If so that kinda sucks

Valve lapping compound and a suction cup. Then you turn the cup and work the valves until it's dull.

Well I got my heads on today the cars pulls much stronger. But will not downshift. So I'm guessing I'm having A major tune issue.

Hey thanks. I'm waiting for new injectors then I'll go get a tune.
I just reflashed the computer so we'll see if that helps.

Blow off the cobwebs on this thread lol! I'd have to say though that when I get an f-body that I will probably go with these heads and a 228/230 ish duration cam 590's intake lift and 600's exhaust lift on a 113.

I Bought like 10sets from TSP And all of them made over 30rwhp peak power and awesome awesome mid range.

For the price you can't find any better heads.

i JUST finished mine this spring

01 zo6
prc stage 1 ls6 heads
236/240 cam
lg street longtubes, no cats, b&b bullets
vararam intake

416/390

my tuner ground my cam also, he said my cam was put in a little retarted , so i'm deffinately a little low because of that. so when i get an adjustable timing set + bigger injectors i should see some improvement, but nothing like what i hoped for. i hear about people making better power than that w/ stock heads ????

Really weird your numbers are lower than cam only ZO6
What kind of dyno?? IMO You should be somewhere between 430-440rwhp.

Post a graph.

acctually if you have 243's already, the port work is 650, and to upgrade valves to stage 2 its another 200 bucks. also thats with stock springs, 918s are 150 more and duals are 250. so if you have them already and have them do the machine work its a little cheaper on you.

when i go on leave im gonna send my 243s in

I had to replace some lifters 3 weeks ago, so I prepared the car for this upcoming head swap with the Cometics and ARP Head Bolts to save time on cleanup, and in torque procedures. It worked as this swap took 4 hours.

The Cam-only pull was yesterday after work, about 7pm, I finished the swap at midnight and did the dyno pulls this morning after I arrived at work, about 11am. I believe the cam-only setup was 13.3 a/f at the tailpipe, and after heads was 12.9, at the motor it would be .5 richer if we were testing there.
Not sure what Jason finally tuned it for as I was in a rush after lunch and didn't check.

The pull was ended at 6600, but I had a spark plug wire start cutting out up top, so the graph shifts down. After replacing the wires with MSD's, it picked up a little more and didn't cut out. The last pull we did today was 430rwhp and 400rwtq, we always use SAE.

I'm pretty happy with this setup, especially for the price - everything I bought was economical other than the splurge for coated headers.
Nice gains
