Default Cam dyno numbers for 02 Z06

I got my final tune today and am pretty happy with the numbers.

Mods.

MTI CAI
Shaner S2
Dynomaxx catted headers
Comp 224/228 .581 .588 114+1

New 405rwhp and 385rwtq. Super smoothed.

Old 380rwhp and 375 rwtq.

That is basicly the average of five runs. One was up around 409/387. But I like to go with solid average numbers. Not bests. The cam was worth a solid 25rwhp and 10rwtq at the peaks. But tq was up 18 at 3,000 and 20+ at 6,500. Not bad for a blower cam. Now to the track on Sunday with some drag radials if the weather permits.

Thanks guys.

I went 11.85@118.45 with 365rwhp/356rwtq. On the stock F1's. I am hoping to run 11.30's@122+ now.

The 380 dyno was with MTI cai, S2, and Headers.

I don't know how to post a graph. And last time I tried I couldn't. I will see what I can do.

Very nice! I used to run an LS6 cam and after installing my TR224 I could tell a large difference in power under the curve. You should net an easy 3mph with the newfound power.

I am hoping for a 4+mph increase. Last time to the track I had a full tank of gas and a 20mph head wind to contend with. Plus I had to bog the car so it wouldn't spin. So this time I am going with a quarter of a tank of gas and som drag radials. Hopefully there will be no head wind and I can hook. The car has picked up a solid 40rwhp and 30rwtq since I was last at the track. We will find out though. I don't like to get my hopes up or over estimate. Only driving the car down the track will tell.

Yes I went 12.08 on the bone stock car with 30,000 mile F1's. I think that is 7th on the bone stock list. I just couldn't get any better than 1.85 60ft. The next week to the track I cut a 1.78 60ft but that was with headers and a CAI. I know that I could have gotten into the 11's with that 60ft.

Why do you call it a blower cam? It looks like AFRs 224/228 that has done so well for them.

I call it a blower cam because it has a 4* split duration, .009 lift difference biased to the exhaust, and a 114 lobe sep. It is also the cam that Andy at A&A recomends for his stock displacement blower motors. It seems that even or split 2* seems to be the best for stock heads. That is basicly why.

Sidestep. I just tried to send you my graph. I hope I did it correct. Let me know if it is messed up.

Thanks Sidestep. Green was before cam, red and blue were after cam. Those were just some of runs made on both. Not the best for either. But average.

I just got my BFG's mounted and it looks like no rain and 40* for Sunday. So I should have some track times after this weekend.

Nice numbers. Do you know where the ignition timing is set at after the tuning? I have the same cam and just wondered what worked best for your setup.

We settled on 24* total. It took 25.5 but it was giving me about a half a degree of knock on some runs, although it was worth about 5 on hp/tq. It liked 24 the best with out the cam as well. Even way rich it would detonate much past that.

That's good to know. I'm currently running 28* so I may try less timing at the track instead of just tuning on the dyno and see how it responds. Thanks!
