Default Next mod for 400hp?

Ya, I know, I hate these threads too, but I think for once I'm kind of stuck as to what to do next.

I have an 00 M6 car, I have done an air lid, ls6 intake, long tubes/ORY, catback, tune, a TR 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA cam, and 42# injectors as of yesterday because I was maxxing out the stock ones.

It made 390hp/377tq.

I don't want to get heads just yet because I don't know what I want (and want to save up for a good set).

What's next as far as bolt-ons for under $1k? Is it time for a fast intake yet?

You could go with a ported throttle body that would probably get you there. Or change the y-pipe and go with trueduals dumped. Or you could do both

How are you out of injector? I have the same year car, power level in sig and my stockers are fine still. Just trying to understand.

Other than that an underdrive would yeild around 10whp.

I don't know, I didn't think I'd be replacing injectors so soon either! They showed a 114% duty cycle on the dyno. I upgraded to 42#'s and now it's only 50%. I occasionally use a 75 dry shot so I have a little room to grow on those injectors.

i agree go with a ported TB and a ASP crank pulley

i would NOT do a FAST 78 intake as you really wont see results over a ls6

or just throw a 100hp shot of NOS on it and call it a day

but ya should save for heads and i mean good ones like Edelbrocks or AFRs its the best mod ya can do especially for a daily driver it would put ya around 430+ rwhp which is awesome for a daily driver

i'd go with a pulley and ported TB as well...i was gonna say a nitrous kit, but sounds like you already have that...but those seem to be the best for your goal of 400, reasonably cheap too, still under your 1k limit..

At what point do you add that intake then, when you get heads?

I have a dry kit already but I don't use it that often. I was looking for 400 n/a. I'll look into the crank pulley and TB.

yeah. I have the 90/90 and having them port matched to the heads is the way to go if you can swing it. I looked at it like i need both so i bought the 90/90 and when i get back from PT im having heads port matched. Big gains withouth losing driveability. I ahve a simliar cam as you. Im expecting 440 +NA and a 90mm n20 plate setup(100 shot) to 550 ish with the same drivability as i have now.

Def do the pulley and throttle body port. I wouldn't spend the money on the FAST 90/90 until you can afford the heads. IMO I would do heads before the FAST. I need to get a pulley myself.

You know you would most likely be over 400 if you didnt have the 12-bolt right? I wouldnt waste any money for 10HP on a piece of paper. Put the $1k away and towards a set of heads.

since you have a cam, a cutout might get you there also if that catback is creating a restriction. I'd also do the pulley and TB, you'll be over 400 NA for sure.

Yeah I think I'll do the FAST at the same time as the heads, since it'll be all apart anyway.

Yeah, I know, I guess I should have worded it differently...more like, "what other little things can I do before I pony up and buy some heads". I'm not very big on dyno #'s either, the track means more to me.

Another vote for PP throttle body and UD pulley. That will get you to ur 400 mark. If you were considering spending money on the FAST 90/90 combo, I suggest getting heads instead, they will prolly yield more power. The ls6 intake gets the job done pretty well unless you are trying to squeeze all you can out of the motor. Just my personal prefference I guess.

Yeh another vote for a ported throttle body and pulley. Plus the cutout if your not into putting on duals. What cat back are you running now?

Cutout, ASP and PTB will net a nice gain and should easily put you over 400rwhp.

Save the portmatched 90 setup for your new heads.
