Default Dyno after all bolt-ons.

From what I've been reading the M6 f-bods tend to put down just a tad over 300rwhp stock.

If you had all the power adding bolt-ons ( I will have ud pulley, headers, ory, catback, and tune) then what would be a reasonable number to expect to see.

I have a dynoday setup next month and I will get a base dyno with just lid, catback, and maybe a tune. What should I expect? 305rwhp?

I know I remember seeing a thread about this already but its hiding at the moment.

with a lid cat back and tune id say about 320ish, but with full bolt ons including the LS6, some people get up around 360 and occasionally 370.

Oh yes. LS6 intake is coming shortly after the headers. Or may be done at the same time.

Nothing like bolting on some 40hp in less than a day.

This all depends what type of dyno it is, what correction factors are being used (SAE, STD) and what level graph smoothing.

Non load bearing dyno's such as most Dynojets read comparitivly high when comparing to SAE Net numbers such as quoted by manufacturers. Load bearing dyno's like Mustang Dyno's offer a more realistic value as a comparison.

350rwhp SAE on a Mustang Dyno is a pretty sensible number for a bolt on car. This would be about 370rwhp on a Dynojet.

Remember there is only so much power to be freed up with induction/exhaust mods before the internals of the engine become the most restricting parts.

All advertised gains for mods are compared to a STOCK car so if you already have mods then they generally will yield lesser results, this is due to diminishing returns.

Example:

Typical claims for gains against stock

Headers/ORY = 20rwhp
Catback = 5rwhp
Ported TB = 8rwhp
Lid = 10rwhp
LS6 intake = 15rwhp
Pulley = 10rwhp
K&N filter/smooth bellows = 2rwhp

This totals 70rwhp increase over stock, but a car that made 300rwhp stock is most likely on a Mustang dyno which would make this number far too high over by about 20rwhp or so.

Anyhow dyno numbers don't mean a great deal as a dyno is a tuning tool not a measure.

True true. I think the dyno on the island is a dynojet. I'm not for sure though.

Also the track just closed so a dyno number will be just about all I have to go buy to measure/tune the performance of my car.

I'll say 315, but don't forget to post up when you have a chance so we can compare!

When I had headers, catback, lid, 3.73 gears and a 3200 stall torque converter I dynoed 335 rwhp on a mustange dyno.

You allways get a little more drive loss with a automatic.

It was running 12.8 at 108 mph in the quarter.

Good luck,

Al

Justin-

The dyno is a dynojet and all #s will be SAE corrected. For a quick comparison I dynoed 318hp, 327tq last Sept. That was with a lid, filter, 4.10s, SLP DD cat back, and the stock tune. You will probably see similar #s with a lid and catback.

With lid, 3in catback, freemods, good tuneup, and a good dyno tune Id guess about 305rwhp. With ud pulley, ported TB, cut-out, LS6intake, LTs w/ 3in ory(which kind are you using?) and a good dyno tune then maybe 340+rwhp. With cats and mid-length hedders then 330rwhp. Just my guesses!!!
When are you getting it baseline dynoed??

345-350 is a good average number (Dynojet SAE), if you want to drop the bucks on an electronic water pump, fast intake, AL flywheel, etc you can get more
