Question

Why is there such a big dip at 4000?

He was still running it at part throttle when he started the dyno.

Big *** cam, and all the top of the line bolt on's. He is also putting this through a 9 inch and I believe a 4.56 gear I think? Damn nice numbers, I am hoping to reach 450 cam only here soon!

Cam Only. Custom LS1 Joe Camshaft, Kooks 1 7/8 Headers, Moser 9" with 4.71 Gears, Slicks, Rev Valve Springs, Nick Williams Throttle Body and Fast Intake. Of course a custom T56Rebuilds Transmission.

We installed the vacuum pump and could not get on the original dyno at RSI as they were busy. Before the vacuum pump there the car made 463rwhp and when we went to Mikes it was 458 so they are about 5hp off. We think based on the numbers if we went to RSI it should make 473rwhp based on Mikes dyno and knowing it is about 5hp down. That is an 11hp gain with the vacuum pump.

Now lets throw some heads on it and see what it does.

The dip is because if we suddenly stab it it wants to bounce on the dyno. We have to roll into the throttle instead of violently stabbing it. It is also probably a little lean from part throttle to full throttle.

We only care about 5000+++ since the car never sees below that. We also launch at 7000rpm so 4000rpm what!!!!

A very expensive modification that pulls crank case vacuum. The whole setup was way more than we thought for 11hp. Hell at this point without putting heads on the car every little bit counts though.

I would love to see your Torque #s. Do you have a graph that shows both HP and TQ?

Peak TQ was 400. The TQ curve is flat from 5,000 to 6,000 though.

Yeah we really do not care about TQ so there is no use in us printing our graph with that on it.

Dont worry about the torque graph, we can figure that out. How about the cam specs?

It is a moroso vacuum pump with a custom setup. When I mean custom they are earls fittings, earls line, adjustable regulator and a custom bracket.

Glad to see another gain for you Joe. The nickels and dimes really add up. 11 rwhp is more than I expected for a stock shortblock. Very nice!
