Default Stock LS2 Vs Vengeance Ported FAST 90

Im sure this isnt a good comparison for some of you, but hopefully it gives you an idea.....

Car is an 05 GTO with stock heads/Vengeance Camshaft. The ONLY difference between the graphs is the installation of a FAST intake ported by us. Everything else remained the same.

Seems the Ported FAST showed gains across the board as well as an 18rwhp/14rwtq increase @ Peak!!!!!!

That's a pretty powerful statement as to how much power people are leaving on the table keeping their crappy LS2 intakes. Keep in mind, these are gains with stock 243 heads. Add some higher flowing CNC ported heads and the gains would be even larger (more like 30 rwhp gain!)

Nice comparison Ron.

Did I mention I also sand/smooth the top and paint the intakes in several colors Here is an example in silver. For those like myself who arent into advertising under the hood, this is a VERY clean look.

Nothing personal but I would love to see back/back results and not 10 dyno pulls -difference.

Sorry bout that SlowHawk, The car has nitrous and I didnt think a nitrous pull against my ported intake pull would be fair Run #6 was the last NA run of the day. Went on to tuning for the bottle after that. Hope that clears a few things up...

StangsBane, I will be pulling a ported LS2 off of a C6 402 next week and installing a Ported FAST. That should be what you are looking for.

I agree Don....makes for better data evaluation (actually I noticed the dates were months apart) but I agree with what Ron was trying to convey. I was recently involved in an engine build for a magazine story that did just that (allowed the opportunity to do back to back testing).

I tested one of my ported FAST units on an SF902 engine dyno (@ Westech in Mira Loma) using a stock 6.0 litre shortblock, a pair of our 205 heads, and a Comp Hyd. roller (about 230 @ .050). With no other changes the manifold swap netted us 32 HP and 20 ft lbs of torque....pulls were done within 20 minutes of one another....it was insane. We really weren't there to test the two intakes but I couldn't resist bringing one down knowing I might have the opportunity to swap it on the dyno.

I know there are alot of people who recommend the LS2's (porting them etc) but thats an awful lot of ground that has to be made just to come close. The FAST is clearly a performance piece and with the right modifications is even more impressive....Im sure when Ron swaps the intake on the larger cube engine it will pick up a bunch over the stock LS2. One of these days I would like to get my hands on a ported LS2 to dyno test but I would lay a pretty good wager the ported FAST comes out on top.

Tony, I can send ya this ported LS2 coming off of the 402 if you are interested.

I understand my dyno comparison wasnt done on the same day guys, however it was on the same dyno, same vehicle, same setup, similar conditions. It just gives you an idea of the gains over the ported/stock LS2s.... The FAST in ported form works... PERIOD

It also looks like it was about 95 degrees when you tested the FAST.

Nice gains, and I hope my intake looks half as good as yours when I paint it.

Agreed. Against a nicely/fully ported LS2. I would like to see this test performed on a 346 as well.

I am anxious to see the results from the larger cube engine. I think it may surprise some people. I am not saying the LS2 will win but I think that it will be closer than alot of people think.

A before and after FAST 90 Intake dyno would make a lot better comparison. That will show people exactly how much they will gain with your ported FAST 90 over a stock out of the box FAST 90 intake.

To me, its apples to oranges.

Ive got that comparison on file too... My intentions were not to display my port work, but to share my findings in this particular situation.

I actually have a graph of a stock FAST installed Vs a ported FAST within 24 hours of one another. Ill see if I can dig it up and post it.
