Default Magnaflow vs True Duals

Would i see a good increase in power going from 2 3/4 pipe with magnaflow muffler to true duals with cats? about how much? i have full bolt ons and a 224 cam. Thanks a lot.

true duals will give maybe 10 more hp or so, maybe a lil more. The reason for this is because they scavenge a lot better then traditional y pipe setups.

If you had a cut-out on there I'd say not much, but seeing as how you were going all the way through the muffler, you could see as much as 10rwhp as previously stated by Alan(2000 transam)

Definately cheaper. should run 50 bucks plus 30 or so for welding it in.

I personally dont quite like the sound of cutouts just cause they are too raspy, however they should flow the best out of any exhuast.

People usually go to true duals for sound.

Yes, you should check out Texas Speed. They are a sponser for this site. I've had no problems dealing with them. I think the TD's set up from them is $429 and some change. Plus you have a choice of mufflers.

I would definetly go with a TSP True Duals setup over ANY Y pipe setup for Horsepower purposes but as far as looks and sound goes that is a very opiniated issue. You might have some ground clearance issues with a true dual setup. I think It sound better than 90% of cat-backs available for F-bodies....but thats just me.

Lanes also makes a true dual setup, not sure if they are still around but I remember them being the first company to do a setup like that over the axle.

You can run them under the axle, however some people dont like it as much as they think it will hinder ground clearence and some say it looks tacky.

Mine looked bomb and has the best ground clearance. You saw first hand

I can guarantee that my exhaust tucks up better than 99% of most peoples TD's. I can put a coke can under my lowest point and still have 2 inches or more.

Better ? Probably equal. Cheaper ? of course! If you look at a lot of my posts here in the dyno section I push cut-outs on ypipe/catback vehicals because no matter how "well" the muffler may flow theres always some power to be gained(cheaply!) be it 5hp or sometimes even over 20rwhp.

I have true duals and they are awesome...mine run over the axle and i have dynomax bullet mufflers with turndowns. You can't even see the exhaust on the car and it is relatively quit at idle but sounds great when you get on it
